2012 REAR bumper question

Hey guys new to thhis forum.

I did a search and sifted through a number of threads, i was unable to find my answer.

I find the rear bumper and aspec rear pieces for the 2012 to be ... Boring.

I love the front but the rear is lacking ... I would like to know if the rear from the 09-11 fits directly onto the 2012.

It LOOKS like i would need the bumper cover and silver trim piece and some fasteners may differ but i feel it should fit. Has anyone done it?

I had no idea that I could use a 09-11 bumper on my '13..

Could I theoretically use the 09-11 aero kit on the rear as well?

Yeah, I didn't know until Potz told me about it on one of the threads while back ago. You will need to put on the pre-12 bumper to use the pre-12 lip.

I prefer the look of the pre-12 rear and the lip and I curse myself for even thinking this, but I am just waiting for an accident to happen so that I can replace my rear to a pre-12 bumper.

This is the best news I've had all week - I really didn't like the new lip kit for the 12+ rear, so this is awesome. I know what my bonus cheque is going towards this quarter!

09-11 white color does not match 2012+ just so you know.. so you will have to get it painted.. even then it wont match

so you will have to buy new rear bumper (275+) ,rear trim (50), new rear lip (250) then get it all painted..(400-500)

and depending on how good your shop is.. it may or may not color match at all.. probably two different shades of white

Good luck, or you could just buy one fairly cheap. They aren't that expensive for the bumper.

You can go cheaper than that, I have seen the trim brand new on Ebay for 20, used rear bumpers in great condition 175, the rear lip most likely at 250, but there are a few OEM lips on Ebay at 150. These parts are painted already, but going to whit you will need new paint, and that should run 300-500 depending on the shop.

lol.. sure.. find me one on ebay that is in perfect condition, one that requires no repair whatsoever with all tabs intact.. for 175 or less with free shipping.. if you buy a damaged one, shop is just going to charge you to repair and prep it anyways.. just buy new. the difference isnt really much anyways.

i will agree with you on the trim.. ive seen some for that price..

rear lip.. well cheapest is 219 on ebay.. but they do not come with hardware.. the rear requires special tabs for it to mount on so you might have to call acura to get the hardware.

I decided to try some white plastidip on the stock bumper to see if that would improve it... Not the same white but body colour paint may be the cheaper way to go...

Much better Acura, why wouldn't you go body colour here.
