2012 Lease- anybody? Acura.com says 410/0 down BUT..

I'm wondering what I'd expect to pay for 2012 TL ADVANCE. I'm talking full out packaged up best wheels NAV yada yada and so forth. Not some FWD for 410, I mean what the hell would I want FWD?! Anyway...

So yeah, I'm guessing the Acura sales team would have me pay close to 600 a month, especially nothing down, for the best of the best TL package.

Any leasees out there or gotten quotes from dealer.....

Thanks.

key of leasing is to first negotiate the price of the car.

do not go in and tell them you want to lease. thats the last thing you want to do.

ask them what is the best price for this TL, haggle like you are going to buy the car, then after all that is settled, tell them you want to do a lease.

thats the best way to get a good price cuz your lease payments depend on how much the car is worth.

You can get the residual (based on length of lease and miles per year) and money factor from Edmunds. Go to the forums on edmunds.com and check the Acura TL Lease Questions forum. There's a guy named "Car man" who routinely lists this info.

That's one way to do it. But if you have done your homework on leasing and understand all the components, it really doesn't matter if you tell them you are leasing or not. But I do agree that you have to know how to negotiate every component of the lease separately.

^^while i do agree with you, that is not the case for most people.

In most cases, consumers just want to hear the first offer, then the 2nd lower end offer that the salesman pitches to you

for instance, if dealer offers you 460, monthly with a down payment, then after negotiations, he drops it at 410 a month, an average consumer will think its great deal without knowing the total price of the cars. thus they will just take it as is, but this is a trick that the dealers use to make it seem like your getting a great deal and that you are pushing them further than they ever did.. but at the end their target was 400, and you agreed 410.

I have to agree with you. The reason dealers like leasing so much is that most people don't understand how to negotiate them.

Thanks for the advice all.

Will be keeping total vehicle price, money factor, and residuals in mind before deciding to battle it out with the Acura salesforce.

OP, it all depends on the allotment of AWD vehicles in your area, but since it's MA, you shouldn't have a problem. In my area (TN), AWD isn't a very prevailent option, so an SH-AWD TL was a hard find. With nothing down, 12k/36mo on an SH-AWD Advance I was in the high 500s. But, like the rest of the members are saying, unless you are a pro in regards to understanding residuals, money factors, and the current manufacturer support throughout the year, negotiate price first, then once you get a low purchase price, then change your tune to leasing the vehicle.

i was just offered $495 per month .. $1714 due at signing. for 15K mile per year lease for SHAWD Advance.

think i might go this route just because at this stage of my life i don't feel like putting down a bunch of cash on a new car.

well, what is the total value of the car with tax?

i whould think a lease with tax should be about 500 to 540 for a 12 tl tech awd advance with a 1700 down..

600 all in with tax included with zero down is good in my books.

Three weeks ago, I just got a '12 SH-AWD Tech with just my signature for $581/mo. That included title, registration, plates, inspection, and tax which is 6.25% in MA.
