2012 G37 Coupe to TL 2012 (base) - decision advice.
Hello guys,
I used to have Acura TL 2004, which i drove to 186000 miles before i sold it for 6000$ last year around this time. I was and still am, very impressed with the performance and reliability except the car pulled towards passenger side all the time and i spent a lot of cash to had it fixed before i could settle down to "it is what it is".
After selling my 04 TL, I moved to 2012 G37 sedan. Car was too stuff for my liking, noisy cabin on highway, center of gravity was higher but it was much more sportier, handling was "different" and never pulled to sides on highway.
Once i got comfortable with sedan, I traded my sedan to 2012 g37 coupe, practically same car with 2 less doors. I realize how non-practical a coupe is (for my use) and I question infiniti's reliability. So I have decided to go back to sedans.
My option here is 2012 TL (base) or 2012 G37 sedan. I know how a sedan is like, i drove it for 8 months everyday.
I want you guys input over 2012 base sedan. I need to know if 285? hp fwd still pulls to passenger side? I dont drive like grand ma but I am no street racer either, how is the gas milage (i know its subjective), I have no doubts about reliability and how is the leather this time?
forget about HP / performance, Is TL a better choice?

He is looking for used so Id say TLX is out of the question. The FWD TL is nice. But like Pots said, at least go for a tech package. Only way you'll know if you like it is to test drive one. I've never had mine pull to the side. Usually an alignment issue.

so you dont want a i4?.. they are like 30k.. i think you should get a new car instead of a used one.. i could care less if it was a v6 or not..

the one i want is 40+ lol, I am looking to buy and keep the car this time.
I cant afford any brand new car that I actually want.
I can go back to G37 journey sedan, 2013 model with 20k miles run around 22k in my area. Journey package is like tech pack in acura, except nav.
I am just worried about infiniti's reliability in long run. parts are very expensive!

Seriously, I don't think you can go wrong with either the G or the TL as far as reliability is concerned.

G37 is sportier, faster, and has more aftermarket support. Acura is larger and has a more upscale interior. I'd say the reliability is a wash; Acura has their own issues as well. MGP is roughly the same, although the TL might be a bit better if you're getting FWD.
If you care about performance, get a G37S sedan. The G37XS loses the LSD, sport suspension, tighter steering ratio, and larger brakes that the RWD version has. But it sounds like you don't need performance so if you simply want a comfortable, quiet, generally reliable car, the FWD TL with tech package sounds like the best match for you.

I don't think there is any doubt that the G is a nice car and it will all come down to preference IMO.
For me, I have owned a 3G TL as well and as mentioned, my brother owns a G and I was able to spend some substantial time in the G. The G was uncomfortable and felt semi-claustrophobic and I am only 5'10 180lbs. Perhaps this is pretty much the characteristics of many Nissan as I felt the same way on the Max and as well as the Pathfinder. I think I have mentioned this before and it pretty much falls in line with what others have already said but for a track day, I would pick the G. However, for everyday driving, TL hands down.

what do you guys think about --> This White TL.
never mind the "previous accident" tag, carfax is clean, there is a mistake in description.

It was perfect until I read "Previous Accident". You'd need it checked out to make sure the body is still sound. Then you'd want to drive it to make sure it pulls correctly (none).
Good luck!

I have a '13 G37X. After having it for a while, I really began to realize how cheap it feels. I've grown to almost hate mine. The nav sucks compared to my old TL, and the interior is just flimsy and inundated with cheapskate plastics. No comparison to the TL. on the plus side, the G is WAY faster than any TL I've ever driven!
