2012 Advance Package Limited?

Wow. I have been shopping and the dealers are limited on selection on the Advance Package. They only have one or two and only in White or Black. I've already decided I want a Graphite with Ebony interior but there's not one to be found.

The dealers are saying that they didn't plan for the popularity of this package and that Japan is rationing parts so the supply of TLs are limited.

I want what I want so I guess I'll either have to wait or place a factory order. Hate to wait but I'm still lovin my '05 ABP TL.

When I purchased my advance package TL, there was only 3 in stock in 4 dealers. They didn't budge too much on the pricing, and saying they are hot seller! yeah right! I believe they figure not many people would buy this package, because most would just get TL with Tech Pkg, or SH-AWD since they are less priced. I know I really appreciated the ventillated seats and the blind spot warning system

There is one in Houston - I just looked at it tonight. But you are right that there are limited combinations out there in the Advance package.

I just bought an AWD Advance over the weekend. There are only two Acura dealers in St. Louis, and between them, they only had one.

Mainly wanted the Advance for the 19" wheels. They are simply stunning in person. Every person that has seen the car (even relatives that don't care about cars) notices them and comment. I didn't expect to like the Blind Spot indicators or the Ventilated seats as much as I do now, even after only a few days. Very nice additions as well.

I wonder too if they ordered less, expecting less sales. It will hurt this summer if they really experience the inventory shortage they say they are already encountering.

Congrats on the pick up in STL. I noticed that inventories at both Leta and Mungenast are down quite a bit from last year.

Nice looking car. Love those wheels.

Definitely get the one you want. Don't settle.

If I were in the market for a 2012 TL, it would be the Graphite w/Ebony.

I will say like everyone says...do not compromise!! Its a huge investment and when I got my TSX, I regretted not having the tech package so I am making sure the TL will have it. Now unlike you, I am not a huge fan of the 19" wheels, no offense, its just not my style and since I don't really need the blind spot and cooled seats, I was quite happy with the 18" and tech package .. BWP with Ebony interior is coming home next week (likely with an aerokit)

If I understood my dealer correctly, he said they can order 15% fwd Advances and 5% SH Advances.

Well, I had several dealers look for my color and option combination with no luck in town. Closest they could find was in Colorado. After much negoitiation we could not agree on a price that did not include transport, etc that I was willing to pay. However, there was exactly what I wanted on order with the factory at the end of June and we were able to come to an agreemeent on price that was acceptable and saved me over $2300. For that amount I am willing to wait. It also gives me time to easily sell my current '05 TL.

Now comes the hard part, waiting.

Well Cpt Crunch....2300$ is worth the wait and like you said, you will have more time to sell your TL. Turns out that I decided to pass on a previously available TL for something I really wanted and it has now arrived, about 2 months later but it was worth the wait. At the end of the day, the bottom line and the exact vehicle is what matters....I am happy I waited and my dealer is providing me a deal that would save me close to 6k when factoring my early termination of my lease and my new TL (compared to a closer dealership) so I did the smart thing and waited and now...this Friday comes the car itself

Hang in there....a month goes by really quickly!!

Japan is rationing parts for the Advance package?
Why would the rationing be only for parts for a few options?
This has nothing to do with rationing parts. The tech package TL is more popular than the Advance. Acura is not manufacturing enough Advance trim models because the demand is an issue. If the dealer does get a customer asking for the Advance trim; they are told that the trim is hard to find and hence no discount. Its all sales tactics.

I totally agree. I think that with the announcement by honda that production of the models (ex. civic) in the US shoud be at 100% by august more advanced models should start to arrive with better pricing. I think with the recent events in Japan and production slowdowns most dealers were hoping for a mad rush by consumers to purchase the available cars at a premium. However, judging from recent news this had the reverse effect. I think honda is going to come out with more incentives in a few. Like now if inventory was in such a short supply why is Acura offering 0.9% financing? I think they want to make up for lost sales and will come out blazing pretty soon - lol. So by the time the OP car come in he might be able to negotiate a better price - lol.

Even though inventory is low in AZ. I bought an Advance this weekend for 2K under MSRP with .9% APR in Tempe, AZ.

And LBJ shot JFK instead of the limo driver! It's a conspiracy to drive up price and sell less cars!!

The 0.9% APR is new. I gave the dealership I got mine from a hard time (not real hard) because 2.9% was the best they had when i gon mine 2 months ago

There's a really misleading brochure being mailed by Acura right now pushing the 2012 TL. It mentions the 2012 lease special and then the 1.9% financing. I was ticked because I just bought mine 2 weeks ago at 3.2% and they swore the financing specials were only on the 2011's (and acura.com confirmed that too). The dealer said multiple people brought in the brochure, but as far as they know, the financing specials are still only on 2011's. Now on acura.com (a few days after I called), it just says to see your local dealer for financing rates. Confusing...and irritating.

the financing deals come and go. I got 1.9% on mines.. and literally the next week they had 0.9%. I was pissed but it was already too late.

I think next time around, I'll just keep waiting for the best avail deal or buy only when there's a promotion.

I have looking for a vehicle for about 9-10 months, not knowing what I wanted. LOL. Going back and forth between Infiniti G37, Honda Accord Crosstour, Acura TL, etc .... Finally decided on the TL. I looked at dealer inventories around my area-Atlanta, Greenville, and found only one car with what I wanted. Crystal Black Pearl with Ebony interior. It was on the showroom floor in Greenville. Took advantage of the Memorial Day low interest rate promotion, and went there knowing that is what I wanted. Didn't get a great deal, but they did sell to me about 2.5K off invoice. I could have probably done better, but that was the only car in that big area with what I wanted: color and advance package. I did add a few things: protection package, door edge film, and remote start. It is a sharp vehicle. There are a few glitches, but I am pleased so far.

A 2012 below invoice? Is it a 2011, or did you mean off list?

Sometimes you have to take these prices with a grain of salt. Not saying this is true of ckay but have seen plenty of people show up to say they got ridiculously good prices and then they are not heard from again. Nor do they ever reveal what they got for trade-in, etc.

Sorry, not the dealer price, but the msrp. they had it listed right at 43K. Sold it to me at 40.5 before I added a few accessories (splash guards, cargo mat, wheel locks, remote start, door edge film). With all the accessories, sold it to for 41.5. They did not give me a break on the accessories. So I think it was an OK deal but not great. But like I said, that is what I wanted: the 2012 model; black on black; advance.

eh.. i wanted the advance for the cooled seats but my dealer (and the other one around me) didnt have any advance ones and werent sure when they were getting more. and they only had on tech package left as well! (had about 7-8 base models).. they ended up getting me a pretty sweet deal on my 12 forged metal w/tech for $38K (MSRP $41K) and they threw in the trunk cargo mat, wheel locks, and splash guards). and then they threw in 0% financing for 60 months.. i couldnt resist at that point; but i still wish i had those damn ventilated seats here in FL... anyway to add them??
