2011 TL Coupe??

While it's not likely, Acura should make this happen. This would give some of the coupes out there some run for their money. Slap it with a Type-S and lookout.

Looks nice but most likely won't happen due to the poor economy and typically low coupe sales.

As far as coupes go, this is my favorite:

haha! Indeed, I would appreciate an AWD version for Canadian drivers but a CTS-V AWD coupe or sedan (or saloon if you prefer) would my top pick for my next car!

I agree.

Here in Calgary the city doesnt know what snow removal is and for a daily driver if the CTS-V ever came out with AWD it would definately be at the top of the list......(especially this new coupe )

AS I understand, a coupe should be the next all-new car after the ZDX.

That does look good but I think the TL is now to big to be a coupe the TSX would be a great candidate, The photochop job would be better if the roof line in the rear was sloped more and implement some intergrated exhaust pipes.

anybody ever realize that for over 3 model years, there has been NO coupe or convertible? Acura is missing out on some key market share... regardless of the economy.. people still need cars... and everybody who wants a coupe or drop-top, will look at EVERY manufacturer EXCEPT Acura....

Seriously...

Acura is the ONLY company with no coupe... think long and hard about, and find me another car brand with no coupe.... (and dont say Hummer, Jeep or Land Rover)... actually, jeep has a coupe/convertible.. the Wrangler!!!

I stand corrected... sorry... Buick, Lincoln & Mercury also have no 2 doors... but their target audience is that of the 65+ age group

Had the S2000 made it to market as an Acura, it would have (in one move) have been the 2 door, RWD, convertible that is missing. It was an 11th hour decision to make the S2000 a Honda not an Acura

im sorry. that TL coupe, is my new avatar. that thing is BANANAS

Yea, technically the two Lexus cars are only convertibles....

The 2 Door Legend and the CL Coupes were iconic Acuras... outstanding cars...

the RSX = Integra = Civic IMO

And the CL and Legend Coupe both sold like DOGS. Nobody and I mean nobody at Acura wants a repeat of that.

I would prefer a TSX coupe available in 4 or 6 cylinder.
The 4 cylinder sedan already has great handling...can u imagine what a shorter wheelbase and wider track w/ bigger wheels would do?

However the TL coupe does look sexy...

I think Acura needs to avoid removing two doors from the TL for the coupe and calling it a day. Large, FWD-coupes with a sedan-like profile, such as the Legend Coupe and CL, do not sell well. The coupe would need to have sleek styling, SH-AWD, and be MUCH smaller than the TL to compete with cars like the G37 and A5. The styling is particularly important, as most people buy coupes for image, not practicality.

If we do the math the G37X coupe is 12 inches shorter yet is 3 inches wider than the 2009 TL SH-AWD. Yet is is 130 or so pounds lighter. As far as I can see, the 2 main reasons to buy coupe are: sporty handling (RWD, AWD, good tranny) and image. Backseats aren't that important and a good trunk is great since you need space to place your briefcase and your golf clubs!

I don't want to open the can of worms that is the «TL image», but it seems to me the dimensions could be reduced easily while providing weight reduction as well. The nose and backseats space are the 2 places where I would cut out space to achieve this goal. FUrthermore, we already have a good engine, a nice 6 speed manual, SH-AWD and super interior...we're almost there!

Be careful what you wish for. Problem with all these low volume variants is that it adds cost to the entire lineup. There's a reason Acura offers the best value
- No factory installed options
- limited trim packages
- limited model variants

It's the reason I keep ending up with Acura's. I don't like paying more than I have to for something. I suspect a large number of Acura's customer base has migrated to them for that same reason.

Don't get me wrong, I think they need to expand the product line too. Just realize the consequences. Prices WILL go up and some of us on here will complain about that too.

I agree.....not very likely in this economy with the auto industry bleeding so much $$$ these days. It may be possible in a few years if the 4G turns out to be a success. With the way things are going as far as sales right now, I would say highly, highly unlikely.

coupe driver here, had 2 Legend Coupes and 2 CLS.

please! no coupes til Acura fixes it's design problems. let the 4 doors be ugly!

sorry, --just here looking for a pic of the new TL 6MT shift knob. I think I saw it on TOV. gotta get something new for my Acura COUPE!

ps- the chop of the previous TL as a coupe looked better.

I highly agree! I also believe that it needs to be a coupe that is above the TSX luxury wise. It really needs to be something that offers luxury that is between the RL and TL.

We all know that its not going to happen, sorry. An Acura coupe, yes.... but a 2-door TL? Nah. We've all seen the chops of the 2-door 3G TL and 1G TSX coupe but they never happened. I'll agree with the sentiment that they need to make the coupe look sleek, and smaller than the TL.

and they need to make it SH-AWD only or hell, RWD, but who knows if that will happen.
