Gotta love the "we asked our customers and they said they didn't want more acceleration therefore we didn't need a V8" lol They def didn't ask many of us on acurazine!
The electronic steering assist sounds nice as well as some of the stability control tech. But I hope it's not just more tech to break down.
oh and "Near luxury" = base TL lol AWD FTW

If anyone else having problems; TL1999 should fix it. I also uploaded it to youtube (posted on page 1). (hopefully, before it gets taken down)

Drifting
The vehicle looks much better in this video, probably because it shows a SILVER car which is downplaying that awful grille pretty well. I suspect that with a darker color, it will really emphasize the oversized grille and therefore look much worse again.

I have had Acura's every year since 1995 starting with the Legend. I have equally liked my Legend, RL's, and the '05 NBP TL that I currently drive. I'll be a dissenter and say I think they have a winner here- it sure looks good in silver on the youtube post I saw. It will probably be gorgeous in person. I can't wait to hear how many people are loving it 2 or 3 years from now.

The car looks pretty good. It looks like a bigger TSX. The SH-AWD model is going to be a beast. I just got a nice pay raise after finishing residency, I may trade my 05 in one to two years.

it's me, Alan Rickman.
who the hell did they talk to about not needing horsepower?
Not that the car is slow.. but.. 300 and 330 would have been nice!!
No video 2 tho? Do they discuss audio stuff in it at all?

maybe he knows that this interview was a risk for him, before the official presentation of the TL...

OK. I just got dropped back to I must see the car in person. After watching this video of it on the highway, it doesnt look bad at all. The grill didnt make me sick or anything like in the still photos... They might have something. with this 4th gen.. I am a little worried about the 275lb of torque. They must have not look at the 335i that does, 300 and 300 already.....

- G37-S Sedan
- G37x Sedan
- G37x-S Sedan
Coupe (330 hp / 270 lb-ft torque):
- G37 Coupe
- G37-S Coupe
- G37x Coupe
- G37x-S Coupe
Convertible (soon to come)
- G37 Hardtop Convertible
- G37-S Hardtop Convertible
Note that the new TL has more torque than the new G37 Sedan or Coupe.

Three Wheelin'
My personal opinon after seeing the video (thanks, albeik!) I must say that while the new TL doesn't look as bad as I thought it might (after seeing it in motion), it just doesn't do it as much for me as the 3rd gen. It looks too much like so many other cars out there now (especially from the side) while the 3rd gen (to me) was not only distinctive when introduced but continues to remain so today. Glad I upped my lease to an 08 which gives me 3 more years to let the 4 gen be refined and perhaps grow on me. PS - I like the 3 gen's interior execution way better but wouldn't mind having the keyless start. FWIW

I thought the 3.5 280HP Torque was 254? And the 3.7 305 HP was 270-something ? So only the 3.5 will have more torque.. ?
RE: The car in motion; for some reason it looks better with the lights on, dunno why, just looks cool

It's gonna be a nice car. The 3.7 SH-AWD verstion will compete really well with the IS-350/G37. It will have the halo effect for people interested in the TL by potentially driving more cost conscious buyers to the 3.5 FWD version who are impressed with the stats. People like being associated with an acclaimed car. Think about, most IS I see on the streets are of the 250 flavor. Same goes for the A4's and Bimmers.

I'll eat a tad of crow here, in the video the car looks really good, but that grill is still an eye sore, they need to do somehitng about it, the rest of the car looks good, I don't like the navi hump either. I woudl love to drive it to see how it rides.

Thanks for the vid!
That interview was painful to watch, to say the least....not the most dynamic speaker!
However some nice shots of the new TL...looks good for the most part but that beak on the front still looks out of place. It was muted on the light colour car in the vid but on a dark car it will look odd.

These promo videos are made to sell cars. Cars will always look good in these videos. The angles, shadows, even the color of the car is taken into consideration when making these. I think they used the silver body color on purpose to high the grill.
I'm not bashing the car, just trying to put things into perspective here. I'm not jumping onboard the bandwagon yet. Remember the Acura photo made the car look good and we liked it until we saw the golf course photos. But even those were badly distorted by the camera lens.
I'll still in the "wait and see one for real" group.
