Kind of hit a nerve there..but tired of people dissing the CL's. I have a 07 tsx and I still like driving my 01 CL-S better. I don't care what people say...for the money and what you get the 2g CL/TL's are excellent cars. Plus they can still keep up w/ 80% of the cars on the road..Not too shaby for a 7-8 year old car.
sorry guys back to the ugly TL.

As I've been saying in the RL section for almost two years....SH-AWD is the shiznit. I'm not kidding. You TL guys will REALLY enjoy it, guaranteed.

However, even now I find myself needing to be exceedingly careful in the tight confines of my parking garage and work and through the narrow entry and exit ramps (poor design, certainly, but the width of the car doesn't help).
Having come from the much more compact TSX, which I still contend was about the perfect size for me, the TL-S just is a much wider and longer vehicle, which I find annoying at times.

On a side note, one of the criticisms of the RL is the smallish back seat and trunk. With SH on the way for the TL, I'm sure they want to insure it will be adequately sized. It seems the new car will be the same length as the G2 TL around 193, its not that bad.
This is a fact I appreciate ever more when I drive the Miata around on the weekends. That thing is a total go-kart and allows me to dart in and out of traffic with a total sense of control.
Small cars FTW.

I loved my integra for the same reason as your miata. I too will down grade in size for my next car. No need for a 4K car.

I see what you are saying. My bad for going off there. I agree from a sales point of view.

And it looks like BUTT PRINTS may be making a comeback for '09 as well or am I missing a second seam in the front seats?? Did they not learn their lesson?
BUTT UGLY + BUTT PRINTS = HAVE BEGUN LOOKING BEYOND ACURA FOR MY NEXT CAR....so sad.....
Just curious as to whether you picked up an 08 TL or TL-S? Any negatives? What are the most noticeable differences between 04 and 08 for you? Now that I've seen the '09 I may decide to go with an '08 myself to replace my '04. It's tough to beat the options/value for the money. Thanks!

I also suspect that when people see and drive the 09 their negative opinion may change as well.

If you're going to give up 2 doors you better be driving an awesome looking car... which the CL was definitely not. You'd buy a G35 instead. I love my CL but it's pretty close in size to a sedan but without the practicality... and 6 speed not offered until it was too late. Was the Legend coupe a failure?

I'll jump in here too, seeing as I have had an 04, 06 07 and then 08 Type-S. The 07/08 refresh was beautiful. The Type-S was adding the icing to the cake. I woudl go drive a Type-S, it will almost be like a different car, especially compared to the 04, the instumrnt cluster changed, the steering whell,. Then the Type-S handling is very good, the car just feels that much more refined witht he 3.5. The Type-S seats (aside from the crappy leather) are the best seats I have ever had ina car, good mix of support and comfort. I can drive my Type-S for hours without any lower back pain. The car is a joy to ride in normal driving, effortless to control and then puls through when you need it. Twice I sold my TL thinking I woudl get a G35, but each time i came back to TL-S becasue it was such a perfect blend. I knew when I tested a 08 Accord last year I woudl hate the 09 TL, the car is freaking huge. the 3G TL I find to be a perfect zize, not too small so you can haul some people, yet not so big to think you're flinging around a trailer or boat. I flip my cars frequently, but the 09 TL has me thinking I may keep my 08 Type-S for a while.

This surprises me. Looks like the Legends were running from 32k to 42k... right in there with the Lexus SC and the BMW 3 Series coupes... and so many people, even people who have moved on to nicer cars, still speak of those last Legend Coupes with reverence... especially the 6 Speeds with the Type II engines. Interesting however.

Bringing the first CL around the price point of the original G1 Legend Coupe was thought to be the answer.
