Question 2009 rev match during downshifting

I got my 2009 TL SH AWD last year. I've really enjoyed it so far, but I am a little confused regarding downshifting and I haven't been able to really find any information on this anywhere.

My question is: does this car rev match when downshifting? All I could find on the internet was a small blurb about the 2012 model having this feature.
When I downshift, sometimes it is completely smooth, and sometimes the car 'bogs' until the engine catches up on revs. Is it supposed to do it, and it's not working correctly, or am I imagining it and this transmission doesn't rev match at all?

The 2009 TL is using a 5-speed auto tranny.

Only the 6-speed auto tranny, on 2012+ 4G TL, has the rev match downshifting function, as well as the ability to downshift two gears by rapidly tapping the downshift pedal twice.

Hmm, well thanks, although I'm back where I started with one person saying yes, and one saying no.

My mistake. The 5AT also does.

"On downshifts, new shift logic generates up to 24-percent quicker response, with a racing-style "blip" of the throttle to help match gear speeds."

would new software have the potential to make our 5ATs shift any quicker? i got a chance to drive a porsche PDK...that $hit shifts INSTANTLY.. i know our cars are not the same technology and will NOT perform like that..but i wonder if it's possible to get any more shift speed than we already have or are we stuck with what we've got???

^^^^^

But who's gonna generate the new software, even if the 5AT can, hardware-wise, shift quicker ? Obviously Honda won't do it.

true. i was just curious if it was a physical limitation of the hardware or if the shifting COULD be improved with new software..yeah Honda won't do it.. but some aftermarket person could... i guess I wasn't so much saying "hey let's get someone to reprogram out trannys".. i was just curiosu fi they get faster because Honda tweaks the code..or if they physicall improve the medhanics inside..

Some members have found that using the Sprint Booster product they have seen an improvement in response, however that product improves throttle response and not shift response but it might still help you feel as though the car is responding better to your throttle inputs.
