09 TL on PBS's Motorweek

The 09 TL is growing on me even though I haven't seen one in person. Motorweek did a good job in presenting the 09

Same thing happened to me with the 09 TSX. I thought it looked hideous with that new front end but it grew on me. I love the new TSX now and I find myself turning my head when i see one on the streets.

Thanks, Colin!

Isn't it weird that at the beginning of the video, he stood next to a 09 TSX rather than a TL? LOL

Anyway, it was a very positive review. I LOVE the color of the TL in the show! I wonder what that color is? The chestnut interior (or whatever color it will be called) is also gorgeous, and goes very well with the exterior color.

Yes, I was one of those people who HATED the grille of the new TL. It looks OK to me now... whether it was really not that hideous to start with, or just that I am used to it now, I am not so sure, but the entire package does look very attractive now.

So after all, it may be on my car shopping list in 2009.... :-)

5.5 seconds 0-60 (est)

I agree though, it was a good review.

Did anyone notice that the TL shown for the presentation was brown? Color looked all right...

I watched the MotorWeek episode. Could the exterior color have been dark cherry pearl? It looks "brown" in certain light conditions.

I think the color was flattering on the car (sort of like black is flattering on larger built people) but I still think the car is unfortunately overstyled. The battle shield grille is like the 09 TSX grille (which is nicely well proportioned) on steroids; way too over the top. Good design should be timeless, like many Acura products have been. This is just trendy design taken one step too far.

The only think I dont like about the car is the grille. The color was hawt too. And est 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds? Yikes, I hope they are right bout that. The new Genesis does it on 5.7. Overall the video gave a good review and I'm sure anyone who watches it may go out and buy it. The interior is "butta" as usual especially in that burnt orange

Not sure I ever heard Motorweek really knock a car before so their review is nothing to judge by.

Motorweek is totally non-confrontational about the cars they cover.

The car looks good in that color. I didn't see any bad angles. P.S. I didn't realize the headlights were "angry."

Gotta agree with Keith and CL6. That had to have been the most softball review of a car I've ever seen them do - and they are already pretty soft on cars they review in general. Not even a token mention of how is stacks up against competitors.

About the closest they came to criticism was to note that the shield grill is "controversial".

Seeing the car in motion on my big screen has sadly served to strengthen my initial feelings for the TL. I just can't find a reason to like this car, inside or out.

Just got a copy of the Motor Trend & they gave a decent review of the new TL ... but they did mention how this one is stacked up against the likes of A4, ES/IS, G37 remains to be seen soon ...

Good Review. Overall, they liked the ride and were impressed with all the features. Now lets do the comparos...very curious about that.

The headlights look good, but I keep thinking the grill looks like it has a smile going on.

I think the color shown on the Motorweek show may be identifiable with the 8G Accord's Basque Red Pearl. I don't know, the Accord looks more red to me...

I agree that the Accord Basque Red Pearl looks much redder than this more brownish color. Also, I certainly hope that the 09 TL will NOT share body colors with the Accord! Acura needs some unique body colors to distinguish itself from Honda in order to make its vehicles look more "exclusive".
