2022 MDX Advance in Fathom Blue Pearl

I went ahead and added the running boards with chrome accents and splash guards. Also got wheel locks; all-weather front and second row mats; cargo tray, net, and cover; door handle film and edge guards; and, chrome tailgate trim. The inside is super nice, of course. This one is a keeper.

Yes (CP) — works great. 👍

I love that I don’t have to fumble with an Apple cable (and hoping there isn’t a kink or whatever problem it is that caused frequent disconnections in the RDX).

Further enhancing the experience is the wireless charging pad...just lay the phone down and that’s it. Good stuff.

How does the wireless Carplay and streaming bluetooth work with multiple paired phones with the +22 MDXs? I haven't found a easy way on our 19 MDX to switch phones and info-tainment driver presets when I'm the driver; but, my wife's iphone connects first as we walk up.

Sorry, I don't know about this. My wife doesn't pair her phone with my cars.

Rooting for the teenager's license, and once your wife gets in one, you're golden.

Very nice! I love the running boards with the chrome accent. I have them too. I think it adds a real touch of class. Well done, she's a beauty!

Agree these running boards are an extra-nice addition! Glad I did it after seeing how much it truly enhances an already great-looking car.

I did the same set up with double nets, cargo mat, and cover in the hatch area of my Fathom Blue Pearl 19 MDX Adv. It is good to see it will still work and looks good for the +22 MDXs. I can't tell how you have the flat mat connected to the cargo hooks? I used blue carabiner, Amazon, $12, as a quick release for the flat cargo net when I needed to remove the net or get into the hidden cover.

You would think they would clean the MDX before doing the video?

We think alike...lol. I also use S carabiners -- although I got smaller ones than yours. I might get something like what you got because when my carabiners are on the cargo hooks, the hinged clasps don't fully enclose because they're hitting up against the edge of the cargo mat.

I know, right? And, of all the colors, it's basically the only YouTube video I could find with the 2022 MDX Advance in Fathom Blue Pearl when I was researching before buying.

Accent Light Theme (Ambient Lighting)

Obliging a request via PM. The Advance trim has 28 ambient lighting options, which you have to go to Settings | Vehicle | Lighting Setup | Accent Light Theme to choose which you would like.

There are 28 options: Dynamic Mode, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Autodromo, Suzuka, Automobilismo, Gran Premio, Peraltada,Alta velocità, Pacific Coast, BajaHWY1, Chapman's Peak, Route 66, Bourbon Street, Golden Gate, Champs-Élysées, Vegas Strip, Cours Mirabeau, Kanjo Loop, Fifth Avenue, Blue Ridge, Canyonlands, Île Notre-Dame, Amalfi Coast, Atlantic Road, Wall Street, and Icefield Parkway. Note that as you cycle through the various themes, some of the differences between the themes are subtle.

Selecting Dynamic Mode will update the theme based on which Dynamic Mode your car is set to. Comfort, Normal, and Sport are listed separately because you can also choose one of them as a dedicated theme.

Here are a couple of examples:

ACCENT LIGHT THEME: Suzuka

ACCENT LIGHT THEME: BajaHWY1

Birdie.... Me Gusta Mucho. I haven't seen the Blue up close, but your pics really do it Justice, Big Time. The add ons are really nice and dress 'er up very well. I dog that Greystone Interior. It Just Blends better to me, as Acura likes to mix and match the interior colors. I have a 2019 MDX Advance. Lease expires June 2022, however, Acura is offering $1K Loyalty toward a Trade up, and with only 20K miles on my MDX Advance (Canyon Bronze with Espresso interior), I have "equity" according to Acura Dealers. But there is a real shortage of Advance MDXs around due to the Chip shortage. There is a Liquid Carbon with Espresso Interior BUT the interior seems a little unbalanced to me with too many material colors : Ebony Dash mixed with wood, and espresso and then dark grey seat backs and light grey roof line ? There is a White with Parchment one available, but I'm not liking the MDX in White. There are about 6 Red ones.... I am not under any RUSH per se except for the dealer's comments that the longer I wait, the less equity I will have in my current MDX? If the Acura Red were the Mazda Red Metallic.... That would do it for me. Good Luck in your new MDX... I'm sure you are liking it very much!!!

Birdie, I'm waiting for a local dealer here in Westchester County NY to get a Blue / with Graystone 2022 MDX Advance in the near future. They say it's in Transit. I want yto see it Live, but Your Pics really do it major justice. The Graystone Interior just "works" so much better than the Espresso (too many color schemes going on).

Hey — glad the photos are helping you! And yes, I'm loving it. Super nice in every regard. Numerous complete strangers in parking lots have stopped me to ask questions or to say how nice it looks. LOL

I definitely agree that Graystone is a great interior. It totally goes with Fathom Blue Pearl. "In Transit" are magical words. I hope you're able to get yours soon.

I "upgraded" to these carabiners for the cargo nets, which can be found at Lowe's, Amazon, and, I'm sure, lots of other places. I think they work a lot better.

I really Like this MDX in Fantom Blue with the Graystone Interior. The Interior is soooo sharp to me in that it is very Uniform, grays and dark grays / Black accents. The other colors seem too BUSY to me. I am going to look at a new one today at my local dealership. They just got a new Advance in this color , no discounts though !!

Yes, I'm glad I got the splash guards and running board — looks very nice! But also practical.

I purchased. I was fortunate I qualified for the Acura Loyalty, Military, and Recent Graduate incentive discounts. They came down a bit from invoice (not that much), but also got a good trade-in amount for my 2019 RDX Advance. All of this, plus some money I had saved, knowing I was about to put out some serious coin, made it work.

And that's before accessories and extended warranties.. I will say, though, I was pleasantly surprised that a bunch of checks came in sporadically since I bought it in March reimbursing me for early termination of my RDX extended warranties. This helped offset what I paid for the MDX. .

I'm really close to Pulling the string on a FBP / Graystone interior Advance model .... Touch negotiations. Dealer Budged a Tad. Then they called me yesterday to see if I was still interested because another customer had come in shopping it and was about to leave a deposit on it. I countered an offer to what they wanted and they told me - It was Not Negotiable, they presented the best offer to get my business. My original dealer (2019 MDX Advance ), hasn't even responded to my emails. I went there first a month ago when I received the Early Lease Termination letter with a $1k loyalty $$$. That salesman quoted a very high number OTD and monthly payment - I left , but emailed him of other offers discussed. At 69 YO, this is Not My First New Car Rodeo !!! History has shown me so much. For example, a little story on a 2007 Infiniti G35 (BTW, the best car I have ever owned , notwithstanding the 2019 MDX ). in 2007, I shopped that car , new lease. Went to the largest Infiniti dealer in the NE, Pepe Infiniti in White Plans, NY referred there as a Costco Executive member. Got a quote, pushed by the sales Manager, but I told him I would shop it as I always do. He said: You will be back !!!. So I went to 3 other Infiniti dealers in the area. One in Long Island , where I had come to realize that my cousin was the Head Mechanic . He referred me to a head Salesperson, who told me : "you are Tony's cousin? You will get the best Price". BS, he was $50 per month higher than all the rest!!!! Moral to the story, like so much out there, You Have To Shop. It's a PIA to drag into dealerships, fill out inquiry / info forms, deal with the salesperson, get a quote and then The "ACT" begins with the Manager who comes out to say " What will it take toi get your Business".... That takes negotiation Guts, to walk or to cave.... . I ended up going to Pepe Infiniti - it was the Best Price that was $50 less then the next closest quote with all other things being equal (total OTD, etc... PS - I needed higher than the norm mileage per year (18K miles vs. the standard 10K miles bc of commuting needs). BUT these are extenuating times... car shortages due to Chip delays. Advances are hard to come by. In the past, You had to find which Dealer was Hungriest. Because of these delays and shortages, I am considering tom proceed now. I have been Bit by the New Car Bug !! Generally, it is always best to wait for the last day of the Month to make your deal,,,, even better the last day of a Quarter. Dealers need sales to make quotas. Listen to a NPR Broadcast (I'm not a usual listener of NPR - way too liberal for me), a few years old, where they follow the last day at a Ford Dealership in NJ. It was fascinating in that, the Managers instructed sales people to call back customers who shopped cars earlier that day and walked , to come back in up to 10PM that night ..... To make the quota numbers for that particular month and /or fiscal Quarter.

Colors are so subjective, However, since I took a personal particular interest in Fathom Blue Pearl for the 2022 MDX I am considering, I have started to "look" for similar MDXs , older or newer recently on the road. I never see a Blue one.... Plenty of Carbons, Silvers, Whites, some Blacks , very rare Red one, But never a Blue one? Wonder If I am missing something ? Is it the light Graystone Interior ? Referring to my previous posts about car shopping / dealers. In the current hunt, a Stamford CT dealer (it is nearby me), who does NOT have the Blue one in stock was pushing a White / Ebony model Advance he was driving and I could get. In his Schpeel he asked if I wore Jeans regularly? He said, that in humid , hot weather , the dye form the blue jeans could run on the lighter leather interiors???? He is an older gent, not as old as me - 69 yo, the Sales Manager, I laughed, we both kinda laughed. I told him, if that were the case, there would be a TSB about it. He ended the talk by saying he could take a deposit for a Blue one OR get a better deal on his White one.

I had a FBP/Graystone 2018 MDX Tech w/SHAWD. I've worn jeans and never left stains on my seat.

That sales guy was just trying to get you to buy what was left. Sometimes Jedi mind tricks work....sometimes they don't.

One of the reasons I didn't consider the FBP w/graystone interior was Acura's website. Their photos are too dark and monotone.
The other reason was my wife's previous car, 1999 Honda Accord, had the black currant pearl w/gray interior that was boring and bland.
But after considering my previous and current cars' colors, I chose the FBP after seeing it in person and viewing YouTube videos.
I am very happy with my choice because the materials (open-pore wood, metal trim, piano black, etc.) contrast with each other very well.

As an aside, do some research on Acura's Pearl White paint. There are some issues including red dots (rust?), discoloration, and peeling.

Papachan, You are like me.... You could sell Cars . YOur new Pics (and Birdie's too), have sold me on the FBP. I love the Graystone Interior ... Of all the cars I have owned - and at 69 YO, I have had many - only had 1 Blue car - a 1992 Ford Taurus Wagon with a Gray Cloth Interior. 1 Maroon (a 1988 Mitsubishi Galant [which was a great car which according to an associate in the Marketing management business for Ford -Mazda said it was The Best Overall Value Auto of the time]), 1 Red a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix SSE - powerful but rattley), the rest of all the cars : 1Tan, many Whites, 3 Blacks. When I first started to work for a Saving Bank as a real estate Appraiser / Loan Officer in 1973, I was assigned a company car - a Shitty Green 1972 Chevy Malibu with a Beige Vinyl interior , however with a 350 V-8 which could Fly with a 8 MPGs !!!. Then the Oil crisis caught the Americans with their collective Pants Down. The next company car was a 1974 (they leased even way back then), Chevy Malibu but with a Straight Six , what Crappy car that was. The Oil crisis gave Rise to the Toyota Corona , Honda's new Accord, Datsun (Nissan) and VW Rabbit. All delivering at least 20-25 MPGs , but You needed Shoe Horns to get in and out for Big Americans. The Rest is HISTORY !!Good Luck with your new Beauty . I hope I am able to make my deal today !! I guess I will able to "learn" how to use the Touch Pad , the most aggravating aspect to this great SUV.

I just took the Plunge and took delivery of new 2022 MDX Advance in FBP / Graystone interior. Liking it very Much !! This vehicle is Best in Class and the best Value for the Buck that I researched. The drive home was a simple pleasure ... going out for the Friday Pizza had me wishing the Pizzeria was much further away . I will offer this.... There was a Liquid Carbon / Black Interior on the floor as I went to pick my car up. I did inquire if I could switch my deal for the one on the Floor instead of the Blue. The sales manager said , You could for another $1K upfront and $30 more per month on the lease !!! Thet are in short supply and highly desireable in that color. Shined up on the floor, the LCP does accentuate the fine lines of the car more than the darker colors , But not for the extra money, especially in a lease. Se Lie Vi... The dealer tried the old trick of selling accessories (for nice mark ups): Cargo Protection packages, Paint Protection/ Ceramic, Splash Guards, Running Boards , etc. I passed on all. Splash Guards , maybe , Running Boards with Chrome accents maybe (THX to Birdie , seeing it in his Pics on hs Blue MDX ). But no rush yet . God Bless . Stay safe all. We are expecting a possible "hit" form Henri coming the NE coast.

My 2021 TLX is Fathom Blue and it is an outstanding color that you don't see too many of. The Liquid carbon will be all over the place- I think you made the right choice !! Enjoy.

Pens Fan, THX, and Me too - I agree, you will see the LCM color all over the place as they hit the streets. I'm loving the FBP color More and More... I'm very glad I didn't get swayed to LCM (especially with an Espresso interior), or the White with Parchment (it was Growing on me). The FBP actually displays different shades of Blue at different viewing angles, and or lighting changes, much like the Fathoms of the Sea... Even my wife, (this is my CAR), was saying....." a Blue car???". The pics on line - which are rare - or in the Brochures , Do Not do it Justice. It was Birdie's Pics of the FBP here on Acurazine that really convinced me to go with it . and Of course seeing it Live... Now I will engage in the intrnal debate to add Mud Guards and /or the Running Boards with the chrome edging like Birdie's car.

Congratulations, sir! I'm glad the photos helped you. FHP pops even more in person, and the Graystone interior is a beautiful combo with it. Enjoy!

Birdonamission, Well, I've got my MDX Advance, same as yours. I am enjoying it like immensely. I am soooo very glad I picked the same Color Combo you did. The color was Named appropriately, it looks like the Fathoms of the Sea. More Blue up close, a bit more Blue Black from a distance. Like Sea water. So far with about 800 miles on the clock (AAAAHHHH No more commuting as I am Retired), No Problems mechanically. There is a small weird Blotch patch in the paint in the rear passenger side quarter panel , almost like it was Rubbed. Going to Dealer Service Dept. today for a look see.

On a different MDX blog site, some folks there have posted that they have experienced some problems with various issues including Tranny issues ? I have not , has anyone else?

One question as I consider the Running Boards with the Chrome accents : Is it interfering with entering or leaving the vehicle ?
