Hi Acruazine!

I am thinking of trading in my 2020 XC90 T6 for a tech pack MDX awd.

Has anyone else made this move? Curious to know your thoughts and comparison.

We also have a G05 X5 that is my wifes daily, this MDX will be driven 7500 miles or so a year since I have another car. Essential a safe baby hauler.

we are no strangers to Acura, we have owned close to 8 of them and 2 of them where 3G MDX.

Is the 4G worth coming back to Acura?

 

Went from 2018 XC90 to 2022 MDX Advanced.
I think I liked my XC90 better, I think it looks somewhat better also. Not saying I don't like the MDX, it's great.
Somethings I miss-
There are no Voice commands for controlling climate.
The brake hold feature has to be enabled each time you start the car.
ACC/Lane keep in XC90 seems a bit better than the MDX.
Better gas mileage.

 

Test drove the XC90 two months ago before I bought an MDX, which later sold for a Tesla and sold that for another MDX. If you can make a Tesla work for you you'll love it. But if that is out of the question, then going back to your original question, the XC90 is so outdated in my opinion, the screen was small with that big ugly gloss bezel around the infotainment. I test drove the top of the line model, the one with the supercharger, turbo and electric. Honestly it did not feel that fast at all, I said to myself during the test drive, how is this 400hp (could be wrong on the hp), it felt slow but one thing I noticed was that it was LOUD compared to the MDX, I don't know if the XC has active noise cancellation but the MDX does. Also Volvo reliability is no where near the reliability of Honda in my opinion, also when it comes to resale value. Before you consider the MDX, know there are people experiencing problems to include me, rough transmission shifting at times.
