What is all wheel drive?
I don’t mean for the question to sound like an idiot, but I saw a video online where a guy was driving his 4th gen MDX AWD up a rocky dirt road with different terrain, showing that if one tire loose traction, that one tire spins and the car seems stalled. I thought the whole purpose or a big part of it was that you wouldn’t have that happen in all wheel drive. I’m more concerned when I take my kids to a snowy area, with conditions just enough to not require chains. And we might venture a bit off the pavement to find some good sledding.
Thanks,
Mike

Have you checked out YouTube on Acura's sh-awd system? There are several generations of mechanical sh-awd and an EV/I.C.E. mixed tq vectoring/regen braking sh-awd system with the NSX/RLX/MDX Sport Hybrids. It is really two systems in one. You have bad weather (sh)awd for slippery conditions and improved dry weather handling for a more sporty and secure driving experience. You have to learn to drive with the throttle on the curves instead of riding the brakes or coasting with mechanical sh-awd to get the tq vectoring benefits.
