Hello all. I am getting a new MDX soon and need to add a hitch receiver for bike rack only. The MDX will come with kick sensor to open the trunk.

Is factory OEM hitch trailer receiver from Acura the only option out there that can still work with the kick sensor for the trunk to auto open? All the aftermarket ones I found will hinder the kick sensor and prevent its feature to work once aftermarket is installed.

No, the factory one also requires a replacement sensor module that is smaller. It has been in back-order long enough that I don't bother getting one.

The good news is someone on MDXers managed to make the original sensor module work with the factory hitch.
