minor quirks/notes
I've been waiting a while for a "good" time to post about a few things, and decided I'd just make a new post
Some minor things I've noted with my 2022 advance:
1) The 'beep' when you lock your car twice is the quietest of all the cars I've owned.
Historically I've used this to find my car in parking lots and it's actually pretty hard since it's so quiet.
2) The heads up display is polarized, but it seems to be polarized tilted to the left at about a 30 degree angle.
If I wear polarized sunglasses, It's slightly dimmer if I look at it with a level head, and I can make it dimmer/brighter
if I tilt my head to the left/right.
3) We all know the lights of the car in the dashboard light up whenever you do something that turns on a light.
I always found this kind of gimmicky as It's pretty freakin' obvious to me if I am pushing the brake pedal or have the turn signal on.
I do, however, find it's pretty handy for seeing if the headlights are turned on (which isn't obvious at all sometimes)
4) I wish you had the 'ground view' when you go into reverse, like you do when you go forwards.
Also, i don't know why advance doesn't seem to have the 'top down view' listed in the manual.
5) I wish android auto announcements would pause the media player instead of just reducing the volume.
it causes me to miss stuff when I'm listening to podcasts. (i haven't figured out a nice way to fast forwards/rewind media in android auto)
6) The car doors already have bright lights that shine straight down, so they light up the ground before you step out.
Part of the reason I wanted the welcome lights was for that purpose, so for that aspect, they are a waste.
I haven't gone back to my car in a dim enough situation where i've actually noticed the welcome lights. (i'm in a lit garage though).
7) Not being able to stash the cargo cover in the car when it's not used is pretty much a deal breaker for it.
I've used the 3rd row semi-regularly, and the cargo cover has just been living in my garage.
Might be a few other things. Nitpicks for sure - overall I'm pretty happy with the car.

I have the same issue with the polarized HUD with my 18 RLX. I purchased non-polarized sunglasses off Amazon to use in my RLX only. I upgraded my 19 MDX puddle lights with plug-n-play Acura logo lights from Amazon. Everyone loves the logo lights and always comment on them.

I know the puddle lights on the newer TLXs have been shorting out and there's no permanent fix. Let us know if the lights don't come on in the dark as you approach the car in a dark location.
