Air Circulation in Rear
Air Circulation in Rear
Hi,
I'm new to the Acurazine community. I'm considering buying another MDX but I travel to dog obedience competitions now with my dog in a wire crate. To fit the crate in my current vehicle, I fold down the 2nd and 3rd rows and place the crate (with dog in it, of course) on top. If I were to buy another MDX and wanted to fold down the 2nd and 3rd rows, wouldn't I be blocking all circulation to the rear of the vehicle since the vents below the second seats would be blocked when the seats are folded? There are probably vents at the rear of the center console facing the 2nd row, but air would probably be blocked by the luggage and training bags that I would have to store on the folded 2nd row. Any suggestions on how I could get air to the rear when the seats are folded flat?
I'd really love to get an MDX but AIR to the rear is a real issue for me in the very hot East Texas area.
(Thanks. I posted a version of this previously but had not yet officially registered for this site).

Air in the second row comes from 2 different places.
1. from rear center console vents (where your climate controls are for the rear)
2. from underneath driver/passenger seats
Air to the third row comes from only one place, which is from underneath the 2row seats.
I could be wrong here, but it is possible there are additional vents in different trims. I re-call seeing a family members platinum elite (canadian spec), and since it's the top end model it had usb charging ports in the 3rd row seating area as well as vents I think.
If you dont have visible vents in the rear, I would recommend going as dark as possible with tint on the windows (ceramic tint if you can budget for it)
and then using heat reduction material on the windows to keep the car as cool as possible and help with air circulation
