I must say that even though the 3rd gen only has a single air conditioning unit (compared to 2nd gen that had two air conditioning units), it works pretty damn well. Half the time my passengers turn the rear air off because it is too cold.

One HVAC system covers three zones on 2014 Acura MDX - SAE International

It seems the back vents on my vehicle need to be set lower than the front to produce the same level of coolness. The front is normally 76 degrees while the back needs to be at 70. The air temp feels the same coming from the vents at these two settings. I don't mind so much, just seems odd. Also, what is so difficult with putting vents in the ceiling over the back seat and third row? Our 2001 Tahoe has these which cool the entire vehicle so much more quickly as opposed to console vents. Having both types would be ideal particularly traveling with animals.

Yes, my rear zone has to be set at a lower temp than the front tow zones to have the same temperature feeling. And agreed, MDX should have ceiling and third row AC vents. The Honda Pilot has always had 3rd row venting and the Odyssey has had ceiling vents for a long time now.
