2023 Acura MDX Type S Leak
Well we have had our 2023 MDX Type S for about a month now (1500 miles), so far we have loved everything about it, but I noticed a small puddle about the size of a baseball yesterday in our garage, I did the smell test and it smelled like diff fluid. I took it to the dealership this morning where we purchased the vehicle, after about hour the tech confirmed it was a leak from the transfer case.. He advised the leak seems to be coming from a gasket and he concluded the leak to be "minor".. My service advisor got me into a 2023 MDX A spec, fingers crossed we can get our Type S back soon, I already miss it after driving the A spec .. Anyway, figured I would share this info here, since I never seen anything posted about any leaks from a MDX Type S before, I will update the post after getting our MDX back.

Picked up the MDX last night from the dealership.. They had our vehicle for a full day, I spoke with my SA and he showed me the paperwork that indciated what was replaced, it was a Transfer Case Shaft gasket(don't quote me on that), It took the tech 4 hrs of labor and Acura corporate reimburses the dealer for only 2 hrs, he told me if our vehicle was out of warrant it's close to $1,000 job.. They test drove the vehicle for 5 miles and put it back on the lift to check for leaks. Great customer service at this particular dealer, really happy with the turnaround time and getting me in the loaner without any issues, quite a different experience at our previous Acura dealer, where the service department was always subpar, after purchasing 4 vehicles from that particular Acura dealer. Refreshing to see a service department do a good job & provide a loaner, our other car is an Audi and loaners are never available, when it comes to warranty work for the past 2 years.
