Put a deposit down 1 Mar for a liquid carbon with espresso interior advance model and dealer was finally able to give me an arrival date of 25 June. Good thing we are in no hurry but the chip shortage has to be hurting the 22 debut. Anyone else dealing with inventory shortages due to chip issue?

 

My local Acura dealership is looking pretty bad with around 1/3 to 1/2 the usual new cars on the lot. They only have 9 2022 MDXs on the lot.

 

I placed a deposit for an Advanced on 4/17.
Received word 4/22 that it was being built.
Expected delivery mid-May-ish.

 

I told the salesman at my dealer to call me whenever they are no longer firmly MSRP. My dealer only had 4 MDXs on the lot last week.

 

Ordered the identical spec the week that order books opened. We were the 7th ordered. Ours was in the "second" order submitted by the dealer. Was to have received it in April. So finally called. Dealer is expecting the "first" order in July/Aug. "Second" order in 6-8 months. Chip shortage. So you guys that are getting yours this month or next...nice!

 

My dealer says end of June. It goes any later I’ll just move on. Chip shortage seems like it will last quite a while

 

Whelp... Looks like I'm joining the chip-shortage club. Mid-June-ish (or longer).

 

I heard from a dealer source today that there is a rumored Acura plant shut-down in June due to chip shortage.

 

would not surprise me as other brands are shutting down

 

Honda Jon says the same thing, really bad chip shortage for Acura !!

 

Anybody else notice that there are plenty of Tech packages available?
My dealership has 8 of them gathering dust... 2 each of 4 different color combinations.

Seems like the A-Spec and Advance are in high demand...

Interesting how inventory varies significantly from region to region.
Out by my neck of the woods, western US, the dealership is down to 3 MDXs, ASpec & Tech.
When I ordered my Advance mid-April, I was expecting mid-May delivery.
Due to my reluctance with dealer trades, I decided to wait for one directly from Acura.
With the chip shortage, the delivery date is now at least the end of June.

Oh well... I'm in no hurry and I've waited this long...
It's given me an excuse to clean, organize my garage, and add/replace my garage door openers.

 

Mine is supposed to go into production sometime this month. I keep checking the Acura inventory for my area and it's not showing up yet. I hope it isn't delayed. I placed a $1000 deposit and it was ordered June 3. Since my dealership is small, they were only allocated 1 Advance order for June.
