alot of people told me the same thing when i was looking to get coilovers. i went ahead and bought the basics and im really happy with them.
this is a good thread that explains everything about the differences between the Basics and the SS.

^^^ amazing thread info there....

my reasoning to go with Tein Basics was since i dont track my car i wont be messing around with the stiffness and hence I can just go for the basics....

The Basics are valved more firmly than the OE shocks. The SS allow you to adjust the damping. If you are happy with going firmer and not being able to adjust that, and just adjust the ride height only, then get the Basics. If you're concerned about how soft or firm the ride might be, spend the extra money and get the SS.

^^^ dude i would go with the basics in that case....if your gonna be running slammed or 1" from slammed....basics is the way to goo....

if your running slammed and going to track ur car on other days....or if your running in a city with lot of bumps go with SS....since you can adjust the stiffness....

+1 All roads up north SUCK

how can roads in maimi be bad? I mean, how bad could it get? all you guys have to worry about are sea turtles, gators, and the occasional suicidal Maimi Dolphins fan

sorry man but here there is construction everywhere .Everyday i have tactically maneuver around pot holes, sewer drains that are poppin out of the ground just trying to rip off my oil pan, and uneven roads. plus the number one killer is entrance ways that are very steep

I bought a set of Tein Basics from Josh at Excelerate Performance in December of last year & they are still performing well. No complaints & the ride is just a bit stiffer than the A-spec suspension but much lower!!
