Is it worth lowering 2006 Acura TL 1.25 inches?
hey guys can you help me out is it worth to lower my acura tl from factory height from 1.25 with springs i got so it would be lower by 1.25 inches what are the PROS and CONS of doing this and will it rub i just am a little Leary of this

Which springs are you going with? As far as I know you should not run into any rubbing issues, or camber issues for that matter. I have been doing a bit of research on the tein s tech springs, and from what I have read, it seems as if those don't require anything further, the drop on those is 1.3 in the back ,and 1.2 upfront IIRC. If your car is stock, and tires are stock size, you shouldn't have a problem

Without knowing the condition of your struts and the actual springs being used, nobody can really know. The spring rate along with the condition of the struts/shocks will determine how crappy the ride will be. Using no-name eBay springs generally I would assume crappy ride.
I have not lowered my TL, so I can't really provide any specifics. I know in a previous car I had lowered 1.25", it was a crap ride with my factory struts, and greatly improved once replaced with good aftermarket struts designed for lowered applications. Your mileage may vary...there are lots of threads on here discussing lowering, what springs, what shocks, ride quality, looks, price, and just about anything else.

What's your budget?
I think it's worth it, I replaced my stock springs and struts with an Acura ASPEC setup, since I live in the north (snow) and it's a DD. I really like them. How many miles are on your TL? If over 100k, consider koni yellows with nice springs (H&R or Eibach). I would skip eBay, checkout, XLR8 or Heeltoe Automotive, both are great sources and will be able to help you figure out what suits you.

We bought our TL new in 2007, and I lowered it last year. Here are my thoughts.
1. No matter what anyone tells you, the ride is better at stock height and on stock struts.
2. The car comes from the factory with 5/8" more wheel gap in front than in rear, take that into consideration.
3. Lowering springs will severely shorten the life of your stock struts if they're good, and kill them if they're not.
4. Coil-overs are the way to go IMO, all things considered, just make sure you get the spring rates that are right for you.
Worth it? That's up to you and your goals for the car.

As others here mentioned, it's all about your goals for the car and what your budget is. Ebay springs on stock shocks will definitely end up in bad ride quality. I highly recommend a quality spring and shock combo like the Koni Yellows and Eibach Sport Springs.

BE WARNED
If you buy from these amateurs make sure what you purchase is actually made for the car they advertise it for.
I still dont have the proper endlinks I paid these clowns for. What they sold me doesnt fit the car they advertised it for and they wouldn't refund me because I took their word for it and tried using the damn part. Once the company who made the part they sold started ignoring them they just pretended everything was over and shat all over the little man. DO NOT do business with XLR8. Im pretty sure making a sale on a product based on a lie is false advertisement and ILLEGAL. But hey Im no lawyer. I hear heeltoe has great customer service though.

Don't buy fleabay products... Those are shit, your car will ride like shit. Save money until you can get legit stuff. Coils preferably, but if you go springs. Tein, H&R, Eibach etc are reputable companies.

Long story short without bad mouthing them...
I order ISC coilovers they have advertised for my 2013 ILX.
I receive coilovers and give them and my car to my buddy to throw them on at the dealership he works at (Mercedes of Encino CA) while I was working.
I get a call from my buddy that the coilovers dont fit. He sends me pics to send to XLR8. Basically the lower bracket holes were not drilled out large enough. Dumb mistake but there you have it. I didnt want to just have my buddy drill them out as they could void their warranty.
I message XLR8 and ISC. XLR8 quickly responds asking ISC to figure it out.
I explain that I do not want to use the part nor wait for the part to be remade and send back to me. I would then have to take apart the coilover to replace the bracket and it was all just a headache I did not want to deal with.
Another user told me he was about to sell his D2 coils and would sell them to me if I got my money back.
So I pushed for a refund and XLR8 denied it because I had unboxed the part already and TRIED to make it fit.
They told me to basically stop listening to my friend at Mercedes (literally their words) and just drill it out. ISC responded quickly telling me NOT to do that if I wanted my warranty and needed to wait for them to remake the bracket.
So I had two different companies telling me to do two different things when all I really wanted was a damn refund for the part that did not fit as advertised. Which I believe is false advertisement as they made a sale based on a lie (the part fitting my car) and would not refund me after the fact.

Do you think an admin in any way could have enough leverage to get me the part I purchased? I assume not. If so then damn I fucked up by not saying anything here.

At the time I wasnt looking to get them banned. I'm still not looking for that. Just want my damn endlinks.

Meh. I doubt it. I mean it's possible I suppose but acurazine has no leverage over what they do with their business. The most acurazine could do is ban them from being a vendor.

Anyways, I've recently sent an email to ISC letting them know we won't carry their brand unless they rectify this. We wanted to call you but have no phone #. So we've sent several emails to the email we have on file. Please reach out to us or respond to ISC so we can finally get this taken care of for you.

^ What they all said.
My experience with Ebay springs on my old 6th Gen Accord was terrible. They rode like complete crap, and they rusted within one season. I would STRONGLY consider finding a set of quality springs like Teins or Neuspeed or H&R. Dont go for the "race" or "super low" type or you'll put a hurting on your stock struts. But no matter what you will make your struts wear prematurely. But you can use with stock struts...
My friend has 137k on his Mazdaspeed 6 with aggressive springs on stock struts (he drag races and drives hard with them). The springs have been on for 60k. Im sure our TLs can handle it too. But coilovers are the bees-knees

I wish Heeltoe would do the same for the brackets of the V2R j-pipe...hint...hint...hint...Heeltoe.
