The road conditions in Winter (Snow Covered / Icy of mostly slushy).
I have another Winter Tire brand for you, Nokian and you can check them out at www.nokiantires.com.
If you are in an area where they use salt in the Winter, I would suggest that you get 4 16" Steel Rims from your Acura Dealer if your TL is an A/T model.
The benefits of using 16 inch Steel Rim are plenty;
Lower Cost of Winter Tires
Narrower tires are better for Winter driving conditions, (Acura dealer suggest 215/55-16 Winter Tire size, I selected 205/60/16 and still maintain Speedometer Error to less then 3%).
The Steel Rims are able to stand up better to dings and abuse
The use of Alloy Rims for winter driving with road salt is hard on them. Any little pits in the clear coat and you will see the Alloy corrode. Also after a few winters, the salt will migrate to the tire bead area, that area will start to corrode and will result in permanent slow leaks.
Best regards from Montreal

I live around DC and we do get snow here almost every winter. I chose Dunlop WinterSport M3 on my A4 mainly b/c they are pretty good tires in snow and slush as well as on dry road.
as frenchnew said, it really depends on where you live and how much snow you get. Nokian makes some hard-core snow tires.

Anyone know if they make steel wheels that fit over the Brembo's... and if 16" would fit?

You are better to ask your dealer about this as when I made my final selection between an A/T or MT TL last year, this became the deciding factor as I could not put the 16" steel rims on it according to the dealer because of the Brembo's brakes.

Blizzak LM-22....a bit higher performance than the WS-50 if you are a spirited/aggressive driver. The WS-50 is more of an ice grip tire, the LM-22 will retain some performance in dry/damp weather. I know a few S2000 owners who swear by these tires here in the midwest (snowbelt)

I'm in the market for snow tires as well, I have spare set of OEM rims but I'm unsure about the size of tires I should get 234/45 - 17 seem little wide for snow tire, does anyone know if it would be safe to go down a little - let's say to 225?
