Winter tire question

I gave an Acura TL type S, 2007. I can get a great deal on slightly used Goodyear ultra grip winter tires. 235/45/17 94W GW3

Any comments? Anyone use these or recommend.?

The UG Winter is a good winter tire. They will not have the deep snow and ice traction of say a Blizzak WS70 or a Michelin Xi3, but they still do well.

I'm going to borrow your thread OP.

I just picked up a set of Extreme Winter Contacts for a great deal and they are in practically brand new condition.

The problem is I'm not sure they are going to fit. They are 225/55/17.

I keep lining them up in the wheel well with my other wheels on and it looks pretty tight.

Anyone here have experience running that tire size?

I've searched and searched and found that 4Gers can run that size. And 6th gen Accords can... I can't find anything about 3G with that odd tires size. Yes, I know MPH will be about 5MPH off.

When clearances are so tight is there any way to know that they will rub/not fit without having them mounted and physically trying them out?

Honestly, there is Blizzak and then there is everything else. I have tried the top names and always go back to Blizzak.

The 94W is the correct load and speed rating for our cars...I do not know what the GW3 is.
