Will Chrome A-Specs peel in winter?

J indicates the shape of the wheel, e.g. wheel flange.

At 7.5" width, I think you may have purchased A-Spec rims for the TSX. As far as I know the A-Spec rims for the TL were 8.0" and 8.5" (only in gunmetal and only in 2004).
For the 8.0" TL A-Spec rims the tire size that came on them was 235/40 R18. You can check both tire and rim manufacturer and retailer sites for the recommended minimum widths. I for one have the 8.5" width rim and have 255mm width tires mounted. Some sites say this is fine, others say it is too wide. The other thing you need to consider is the tire profile as this will have a big bearing on your ride. Just some things to consider.

well i guess I got screwed on the rims then huh. thought all along these were for a TL. Should I just sell them, or will these fit even though they are smaller.? I really like the chrome finish

You'll have to research it a bit but I'm pretty sure the hub bore for the 1G TSX is the same as the 3G TL. If it is, they will work just fine.
As for spacers, you'll probably need at least 20mm all around. I'm running 18x8.5 +30 up front and still have some room between the fender and tire. So if you have a 18x7.5 and run a 25mm spacer, your offset will be down to +30 same as me, but your wheel is still a full inch narrower.
It won't look terrible but you're going to spend more money on spacers and such to get the look you want

Since they are 7.5"width, I would stay away from these rims period. The stock wheels are 17x8.. You are going less narrower than stock. The wheels hat you bought are for aTSX not a TL...Anyone else have anything to add to what i said?

For normal everyday driving, probably not. If you are an aggressive driver, I would be careful. As mentioned above you are going narrower and a lot of folks are going wider - myself included. I'm not a super agressive driver but do enjoy a spirited run on the on ramps and off ramps occassionally. My preference is to have more rubber on the road.

It's hard to say as I really have no idea what you bought. There is no such thing as. "2015 TL a-spec.". Did you mean 2005? "19" rims" doesn't narrow down the available options to discuss......... 6500 km certainly sounds like a 2015, but again the TL was already discontinued.
Need more info......

its a 2014 tl sorry typo, and I have already talked to my dealer and he is going to replace all of my rims, I am worried that this my be common and I am going to have problems with the new rims. Any suggestions on how to keep this from happening.

Oh, okay - gotcha! Make sure you keep your rims clean and free of sand and salt (if you live in a snowy area). You can also use a wheel wax and stay away from curbs!
