Will 225/40/18 leave a gap!
Hey ok I finally made up my mind I want to purchase Racing Hart C3's in 18's. My friend has racing has c2's with 225/40/18 and I measured his wheel size to the stock wheel size on the TL-S and the stock wheel and tires are almost 1 inch bigger than the 18's I am using H&R Sport springs and my slam on stocks is perfect with less than an inch of a gap by using 225/40/18 will my car go lower or will I just have a larger gap if so could I correct this by using 225/45/18 ? Please help............

I just installed the 225/40-18 and wish I would have spent a little more to get the 225/45/18. The increased wheel gap is very noticeable. Only problem is you're really limited on whats available in that size, Bridgestone Potenza S-03 ($199) or Michelin Pilot Sport ($249) at Tire Rack.

Not to worry. Time to save up for lowering springs.

Yes they will..
but the advantage is that if you have a bit more of a gap on wider tires, and wheels.. you have less of a chance to rub..
Actually, the stock tire height would be only about .6 inches taller than the 225/40 tires.. Overall, you car will be sitting an additional .3 inches lower than if you kept your stockers..
225/45 are a much better fit for stock size, and these are about the same size as stock. And about .9 inches taller than the 40 series.. your car would actually be just about even with your stockers..
problem is that you have a very limited amount of inexpensive tires you could choose from that are available with the 225/45 size.
Good luck!
