Why do my wheels stick out???

I don't know much about wheel/tire fitment but this just doesn't look right to me. I was expecting a flush look and instead I feel like it looks like a 4wheel drive! It looks like it jacked up in the rear and that the tires stick out like tractor wheels! (I'm a little dramatic) but regardless it doesn't look good to me.
My wheels are 20x8.5 5x114.3 . 35mm offset and the tires are 235/35zr/20. I had a hard time finding wheels that would fit over the calipers......

Here are photos of the car w/ the wheels.
Can someone tell me what I did wrong or what I can do to make it look more low profile and flushed.

Thanks!!

That setup will move the wheel/tire assembly out about 5/8" farther than stock. Hey, it's what some of the guys like that are on the Forum and some actually will move them out farther and leave the suspension cambered at the top to have them fit. Beyond me!

Only way to correct is to purchase other wheels with a different offset to move the assembly inwards.

it looks bad because its not lowered... if u lowered the car they would fit nicely and the rears would camber in some and tuck

u dont need a camber kit u need to lower the car

a camber kit is only used after it is lowered to try and even out the angle of the rear tires from the drop... get that biatch lowered or go back to smaller rims

yea so in turn if you lower the car then put a camber kit on it...you would be right back where you started just lower now....id say if it bothers you get new wheels

I love of it is hit or miss...
I got lucky with setup...I had +35/+45 offsets on my wheels and I had room to play with. Good thing is I could add a spacer and make flush whereas you can't bring yours in any. The money is spent, and you clearly like the rims or you wouldn't have gone for them. Try doing a H&R spring on the stock shock if money is tight...or get a coilover kit (recommend) to make adjustments. You lower it, it'll make it look a LOT better because it will be lower and it will have some negative camber to bring the top of the wheel in a bit.

Jesstzn, with the blackout theme you have goin on, you consider opening up the headlights rather than the overlay? I was so nervous to do this but at this point I've done it 4 times and it is so easy. Just wondering...

Is this what I should be looking to get to lower it a bit?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Acura...Q5fAccessories

Is it fairly easy to do??
Also, will I need to roll the fenders so I don't have any rub when ppl are in the backseat?
Thanks everyone!

look around... im not sure what was on the ebay as the post has expired but if its something as cheap as $39.99 then no!!! you dont want to do that haha... look into lowering springs or if you can afford the few extra $$$ which i say do get some coilovers from tein, h&r megans.. etc... i spent $810 on my coilovers and its great... u can lower your ride as much or as little as you want to perfect the look you are going for and the look that works best for your rims... with springs only you are kinda stuck in that position.

if you go low enough you may need to roll your fenders... i havent rolled my rears yet and i do not rub but if i correct my camber some then i think i would need to roll my rears

1st link wont work those arent for your year TL.... second Tein springs will work... to me its worth getting coilovers since if you change springs or complete coilover its the same amount of work. how much $$ do you want to spend? if you are on a tight budget find some lowering springs then take it to a reputable shop in your area that has experience lowering a TL. If you got a lil extra cash then go coilovers so you can adjust the height to the exact way you like it and what works best for the 20's

Yes you can... I got my 10mm pad shaved off my 20x10.5 wheels... made the wheels go from a 32mm to a 40mm... it will probably take your wheels to a bearable 30mm

Will shaving the pad make the wheel rub up against the caliper?

depends on how much clearance there is currently between the back of the rim and the caliper? 10mm is not that much but it would prob make a improved look... a 20 offset is way to aggressive for 20" rims un less you are trying to slam the car and run a stretched tire..

yea i guess your only options are to shave that like mentioned before or new rims with a more reasonable offset

Here is what the pad is.

This is a brief discussion about it on the NSX Prime board. Just remove the spaces between the N-S-X

No it should not in your case... your waaaaayyyyyy too far out. Maybe if you were trying to get an ultra tucked offset of 50 or something plus you had the 6sp BBKs
