wheels for winter?

Hi guys - would anyone happen to know if 17" Drag DR-31 wheels would fit with 08 type S brembo brakes?

here are the specs
17X8 47mm offset.

http://www.dragwheels.com/product.asp?ID=129

i was also thinking of getting some 205/50/17 or 215/50/17 tires. Im not sure if the 8" rim will be too wide..

if anyone knows of any other some cheap rims that would work with the typeS brakes, im open to suggestions. I cant seem to find any deals on stock TL that are in good condition.

thanks!

Those should fit with no problem. Since the offset is high and the spokes aren't concave, they shouldn't rub against the Brembo calipers.

The only problem I have with your intended setup is your tire selection. A 8" wide wheel needs 225/235 wide tire, 205/215 tires are too narrow. Also for a 17" wheel, your sidewall needs to be 40 (ie 235/40/17) so it doesn't throw off the speedometer. A 50-series sidewall is way too big.

I thought the stock size was 235/45/17?

If thats the case the 215/50/17 is a near perfect match height wise but might be in a bit of a stretch situation.

Myself I prefer a narrower tread to cut down on the tobaggan effect.

JMHO.

You are correct. I was thinking a 40-series sidewall since that's what I have on my A-Specs.

i just got off the phone with the tire shop and they suggested to get 17X8 35mm offset to ensure there is more room. Does it make sense to go with 35mm offset or 47mm to clear the bremos ?

also anyone have issues with the tpms that the tire shops sell?

35mm offset would make more sense.
