Wheels and Tires help, please

Hey, Im sorry to do another post like this but I am in need of some advice for a TL. I have a 2005 TL Auto, and I am looking into getting new rims and tires. I have my eye on TSW Mondello rims, 18x9. But, I would like to get 265/35ZR18 tires. The rims also have a 35mm offset. Would that work? Most wheel sites like tirerack and buywheelstoday say that these rims will fit, and I read somewhere on here that the tires will fit also. By the way, i DO want the tires to look very wide.

Thanks very much for any information

The width for two sizes is more, in extreme positions can touch something, try to make it and then you`ll tell

You can draw yourself a wheel-offset chart and measure it yourself.

If the rims are 9" wide, then +0 offset = 4.5". Then you add the +35mm offset (~1.38"). So the final measurement = 3.12", the distance measured between the hub to the outer lip of the rim.

So take off your wheel, then from the hub, stick ruler and measure out 3.12" and voila, there you go.

*** edit ***

Just remember... +35mm offset on a 9" wide wheel is not the same as +35mm offset on a 8.5" rim, or 9.5" rim. The Offset is only directly comparable from identical sized rims (width wise).

no idea what people up there were writing, but yes it'll fit, you can do the +35 offset to be fully aggressive

I ran 18x9 +25 front 18x9 +32 rear 245 series tire, had plenty of room

You need to be real careful here & physically measure the tire before you buy. Not all 265 tires, like any other size, have the same tread width.

Example the F1 265 Goodyear (9.2") has about the same tread width as the F1 Goodyear 255 (9.1").

Both of these are narrower at the tread then the 255 Yoko ES-100 which is just about 9.9". A lot has to do with how the tires manufactured & how square the shoulder actually is.
