Wheels not fitting

Hey guys, I need some quick advice. I have an 05 TL MT and it has the Brembo front calipers. I am aware that I need the 17" x 8" wheels (factory stock) in this case in order to fit over my calipers.

I had the Type-S wheels on there and they worked just fine but were stolen two weeks ago I didn't have money for new Type-S so I bought factory 5 spokes 17" x 8" 5 x 114.3, the mechanic says that they are rubbing the caliper. I have no idea why and no idea what to do! Are the Type-S wheels larger than 8" do they have more room carved out in order to accommodate the Brembo caliper?

Please help!

the factory 5 spokes from an 04-06 TL WILL Clear brembo calipers.

the 6MT 04-06 TL's came with brembos.

my stock wheels clear my 06 6mt TL with brembos.

if you happened to get the 07-08 base rims, they clear, but barely.

Thanks for the reply, man. Ya that's what I figured, I really have no idea what the shop is talking about, what sucks even more is the fact that I should be doing this on my own like any other repair but I'm so swamped with work I had my buddy's shop handle it...regretting it already.

you can also buy a 3mm spacer for a few dollars. This will clear the caliper and won't noticably impact stance/appearance/rubbing issues or anything.

If you do end up needing wheel spacers we have the H&R TRAK Spacers available on our website.

They are available in various thicknesses, here is a link to the 5mm which would probably do the trick:

H&R are awesome spacers and TUV approved. I got 25mm spacers and stockies for the winter setup! Look online you might find OEM's for cheap. I picked up a second set for 180 with winter tires.
