I like the Maido ST5's. I researched them in 18's from Wheels Boutique. They do make 18x8.5 w/ a 42mm offset which is almost the same as the A-Spec wheel offset and size. I thought it was perfect...but I'm still pondering.

I also like the Volk Kuwagatas. Not sure about the sizing on those.

19's should fit as well on the Maido ST5's. I would suggest not going with anything wider than 8.5' so that there will be no rubbing problems.

I didn't want 19's because the roads around me are bad, and I did not want to risk cracking a rim.

I normally don't like 99% of the rims out there, but I also agree with the 1st and the 4th. Pretty sweet.

First one would be a beyotch to keep clean with all the nooks and crannies for brake dust to settle in around all the pseudo-bolts on the perimeter.

And I would have to ask to get them without the company name down one arm. I don't like to be a continuous advertisement for anyone unless they are going to send me money monthly. (I'm the same way about dealership stickers on rear of cars, take it off or pay me to advertise for you)

these are the MAIDO GR5

These ones are the ones to go for. Slimmer spokes compare to others with a nice finish polish lip. The TL would look hot with a LIP wheel. I would no doubt with out having to decide and go with these rims. I saw one car in the import show here in Vancouver having these rims on a Nissan 350Z Convertible and it looked very hot!!!! I think they are made in Japan and is very expensive rims. I think they go for over $800/wheel.

There is a place out here in SoCal called Rent-a-Wheel. I dont have any experience with them, but if the name matches the business, you might be able to literally test drive some rims for a while and then if you dont like em, send em packing.

I think this is them .
Looks like CA, AZ, and TX locations as well as a 3 month minimum.

i am feeling the first ones toooo. but no one aroudn here has them for me to see. (
because i get this feeling that if you look at the wheel, lets say you see my car parked right. on a sidewalk. and you are walking on other side of side walk, because of the fact that it has a lip and then it starts from the inside with the small bolts that hold the 3 pieces together, that you really SEE from the inside. missing the lip. and making it look smaller.. dont you think? or am i just going bananas :bananahump:

Maido ST5 pic on a M3

The rear wheels look nice, but the front ones do not because the lip is not as deep as the rear ones

hey this is an email I got from Ron himself..

on those wheels..

the specs for your 04 TL will be 19" x 8.5" 42mm offset, 64.1
centerbore (hubcentric) and they will fit just like OEM, but will
extend 2mm past the stock wheels, so they will tuck and clear the
fender when the car is lowered. My first priority is to clear the
fenders for the purpose of rubbing and a perfect OEM fitment, but if
you like the wheels to "poke out", you would have to put adapters that
will add space between the hubmount and wheel (which i wouldn't
suggest). they will also clear aftermarket brembo brake systems. the
price for the above wheel is $325 each, or $1300 for a set of four.
shipping si between $50-$100 depending on location and tires aren't
included.
I plan to do my next wheel in 19" and 20" for the TL, new RSX and the
new RL. the next wheel will be in chrome as well as satin silver with
a polished lip & black gloss with a polished lip. it will aslo have a
real nice deep dish. But the next wheel will take a bit of time until
i get the company up and running. Thanks for writing and the catalogs
were shipped today. later.

you can email him and ask him the weight of these wheels at info@ronjonwheels.com

i only had about a 1 inch lip on the rims. The offset was a 47 and it was 19x8 and on the 2nd gen cant go any wider then 8in wide. i think you can see the lip better with the pic
http://users.ev1.net/~mchan890/ac9

The reason i sold those wheels is because i wanted a bigger lip on my new wheels for my 04 TL. I'm planning on going with 19x8.5 with a 43-45 offset. hopefully i can get a 2in lip with that set up.

It seems everyone has there own opinion on rims. I really like the 18" aspecs and love ronjon's inspyres. Here are a few others that I like....

Not really sure how the last ones would look on the TL, I usually go for the double 5-spoke design, but there's just something about them I like.
