Wheel weights

Are these common wheel weights - these stick on type? This is my first car where they are stuck inside the rim. I think my '02 TL still has the "hammer-on" type. Just wondering if it is going to be a problem at my local garage when I get new tires put on - or do I have to go to a special place for this type of rims.

Do they clean up OK - any sticky residue etc.?

They are very common and you can simply request from the shop that they use them. They look better than the edge weights but they do NOT clean up well. It is a PITA to remove all of the adhesive.

That's standard for this type of wheel and my motorcycle has used them since day 1. Although the adhesive is a bit schticky it can be removed with a suitable solvent (isopropyl alcohol is what I used).

In my car, I have these sticky weight inside the rim. But don't forget each rim has two sides, and there are some of "hammer-on" weights for my inner balance. The way they're using at least help us get the clean appearance.

I'm not sure if everyone does see this...

I noticed some severe amounts of the weights on my P.O.S. 04TL, which tells me there some serious issues with the tires (I know I know, surprise, right ??)

And my left rear tire, I saw that some of the weights must have come off cuz there was just the black goo square. Either that or when they balanced them for the 348th time, they just didn't take the adhesive off.

It does look better than the lead weights on the outside edge tho.

Sherlock,

I think that each little square is a small amount of weight, so they can add up.

A while back, I got really tired of asking for the internal weights and getting rim weights, so now I tape a request page on each wheel and tip the guy ten bucks if he is careful with my rims.
