wheel spacers

i am getting new wheels in a few months but in the mean time i was at the shop talking to a guy who mention wheel spacers, as a temporary fix to my wheels being tucked in. they look like gaskets made of metal essentially. i would like my factory wheels a little more flush with the fenders. does anyone have an experience with using this? would be be safe or mess up the car in anyway. the main reason i am looking at this idea is they are only 12 bucks a piece and thats alot cheaper than buying wheels right now

Many people have used spacers to great effect with stock wheels. If your going to do more than 3 or 5 mm, get a bolt on spacer like the Ichiba V2, they come with new studs pressed in so your not running your lugs on 2 threads

I'm running 3mm spacers on a '07TLS and there is no need for a wheel stud change but I was told that if I went to 5mm spacers you need to change the studs.

Maybe this helps?

5MM being the MAX without longer studs.. keeping it below 5MM you should be fine. Better make sure 5MM is what you want and will be enough though
