Why is it that everybody(ok,some people)want bigger rims on their cars?? I can see maybe 18's on a TL,but 19's?? 20's??? why not get go-kart wheels and tires if you want such a short sidewall..not to mention, riding a little bit on the STIFF side..please don't flame me here, but, maybe I'm from the old school...plenty of handling and ride comfort can be had with a plus 1 size wheel/tire combo. just my .02.

It's a matter of preference. The ride quality is still very comfortable. Not as comfortable as stock, but not as far off as you might think. The truth is, performance wise, you're probably better off with 17's or 18's.

it's all about aesthetic value for me....i just think bigger rims (up to a point) flat out look better.... 18's are really nice... 19's are perfect for this car

The whole big rim thing came from rap. People think they're cool when they put bling bling on their car, because it makes them a player. Proof? Look at gordon's avatar. Hehe, j/k.
Seriously though, people just think it adds a bling factor to the car if it has big rims. I don't understand it really. Rappers rap about putting 24" rims on escalades and shit, I don't really care though.
Honestly, if rappers never started the whole rim craze, people wouldn't be as into fitting the biggest rim on their car, even if it looks horrible, and don't forget the chrome/spinners!
