What tires to get on a-specs??

Picked these bad boys up about a week ago not sure on what tire size to get recomended size is 235/40/18 but ive seen alot of people puting 245/40/18 some saying it protects the wheel better and you get longer life on the tread just want to get some opinions before i purchase.

Are those the 18 x 8.5 Gunmetal A-Specs? If so, most people like myself run 245/40/18. Other people with the regular 18 x 8 wheels run the 235/40/18.

I haven't read into it much but I don't think there would be a HUGE or noticeable difference between the two.

I'm in the same boat as you 40kalz (Congrats on the new wheels!). I live in Texas so going with a summer tire would be great, but I am also wanting some decent tread life so I'm leaning towards all season tires as well. After a decent amount of research (reading the forums and tirerack.com) I think I've narrowed my choice down to two tires:

1. Continental Extreme Contact DWS - $950 out the door

2. Yokohama S.Drives - $975 out the door

Which tires are you looking at getting?

It'll say on the inside of the rim. They're likely 8" if they are brand new.

I've got a new set myself and considering Conti Extreme Contact DW's. I'd love an all out traction tire but I want it to also be decent in the rain.

The 8.5" don't have a lip where the spokes meet the edge of the wheel. It is easy to identify them from the 8" that way.

Are they 202E's? They're called Ebony now, but that's also close to the old gunmetal.
