Hey guys,
Just wondering what size tires fits on stock rims. According to tire rack 225/45-18 would fit, are they correct??? I am looking for Bridgestone Pole Position S-03's. Please help!!!

A TL-S has 17 inch rims not 18.

yea i kno, but that is what tire rack's site said would fit. so i guess they are wrong.

Sure 225/55-17 would fit on the stock TL-s wheel but it's more than 1" taller than stock so that wouldn't be a good choice. Closer replacement sizes would be 225/45-17 or 235/45-17 (ideal). Unfortunately neither will fit on the TL-s 6.5" wheel, that is according to the tire manufacturers. So, if you're going to play by the rules, you ain't got much options other than going with a wider wheel to accommodate the wider tires.

I got 225/45/17 tires for my stock rims from tirerack. Oh, before processing the order, the guy from tirerack called saying that they are the wrong size for my stock rims, but I told him to send those size tires to me anyway.

thanks for all your help i think i may go with the 225/45-17. will they look weird on a unlowered TL-S. will the gap between the tires and the body of the car be too big?

hey TypeSDragon, wut tires did you get? hows the performance (pretty sticky?) and does it affect the ride quality? and how does the wheel gap look with a dropped car?
