Can't see any image in your post, but anything over 19" is performance-degrading, excessively expensive and thus silly on a TL.

I love the big rim look and if you do too, then put them on there. It's all about personal opinion and it's your car so you can do what you want with it. If you're not taking it on the track then it doesn't matter about performance. Just get what you think looks the best to you.

WTF are you trying to do?
Make the car look like one of those pickups with the cab 10 feet off the ground where you need a ladder to get in?

what do you think about 22"s
i think it would make the TL look aweful, it would most likely look like a big bad taste joke.

is there even a thin enought tire for 22's so the rim can fit into the wheel well?

I always want to point and laugh at cars with those huge rims. The owners think it looks good but it looks ridiculous. Oh well, I need a laugh sometimes.

It's fine to let it be done to SUVs/Pickups and old domestics but please don't do it to an Acura. Acura is above that shit.

^I think there's a guy over on cardomain with 22's on his TL. It was black with some pretty cool paint stuff, forget what its called - airbrushing maybe? Damn I'm still hung over. Overall I think 22s on a TL is overdoing it........ 20s max.

LOL - 22's would ONLY fit on a TL if it DID NOT have ANY tires on it AT ALL!

22s will fit on a 3g.

But it is a VERY tight fit.

I think it would look ridiculous. 19s are perfect on a TL. 20s max

Us G35 Sedan guys can do it, I'm pretty sure a TL will be able to squeeze 22's in there since the G35 sedan and TL share very similar wheel requirements.

That is a little to much for me 22's on G35.........you can't even lower the G35, one of the rides I'm considering is the G35. I'm thinking of going back to 19's staggered with 9.5 in the front & 10.5 in the rear with a aggresive lowering on the 07 G35. I love 20's on the TL but not 22's.........only on a SRT 8 300c. Yo........you're my man fifty grand on the 20's but not 22's on a TL, checkout Donz website or contact f1motoring.com for the Donz wheels. Jayson Happy NewYear.....hit me up on what you think about the Donz wheels, gotta get back to work.

Hey dude, lighten up. The TITLE of the thread is "What do you think about 22's". I supplied my opinon. That's it. Nothing more. I think 20's are pushing it but K-Shawn's car looks good. 22's belong on a TRUCK (or "possibly" even would look OK on a larger car like the 750iL or the 300C SRT). On these mid-sized cars like G35, TL, BMW 5-series....They look like crap (in my opinion). The thread asked for it. I provided it. What good would an opinion thread be if all anybody answered was BS supporting something? That would simply be false support. Like taking a poll but throwing away the answers you don't like. It's not valid.

BTW - There is nothing SERIOUS about that G. Look up the term "serious" and then get back to me...LOL!

Actually, OP was asking us for our opinions on 22" wheels since that is apparently one of the factors OP wishes to consider before getting them. We were not giving unsolicited advice/comments.

One advantage though - you could probably drive right over the top of small children playing in the street. It kind of looks like you dropped a TL body onto a truck frame. Are you getting many questions about it being four wheel drive?
Sorry, that just looks wrong.

Dade - Thanks for sharing your efforts. Based on calcs it appears that the car is only suppose to be 1 inch higher than a stock setup but I swear that car looks like it's up on stilts to me. Did you have to do something to the suspension in order to "jack" that sucker up? Looks like someone could lay down under your car an not even get a scratch on themselves. At nearly 10% different than stock, the speedo will show 54MPH when your really going 60. Overall diameter is over 3-inches larger than stock so how do you address that problem? With the taller tire, your also not going to be able to turn the front wheels FULLY. I guess that may not matter to some but I can't see this frankenstien's monster getting through any of the state imspection points.

When you gonna git ser-rus and git you sum 24's under that bad boy?

Slammed - That's ONLY if your a slave to peer pressure from the a bunch of clowns, you may be right. The ONLY reason that 20+'s are viewed as attractive is because only those who can afford the RIGHT sized car can also afford the nicer 2's. Putting 2's on a TL is simply a demonstration that YOU DON'T GET IT. Some people think that dropping a set of 2's on a 1974 buick will also "somehow" make it more attractive. IT DOES NOT! IMHO you guys may just be a group of teenagers tryign to pretend like your sumthin when in fact your actions actually give you away as little more than kids easily influenced by meaningless peer pressure. Either way, we REALLY owe it to the OP (original poster) to return this thread back to him rather than running this childish banter (I apologize in advance to the mods for my comments which may have perpetrated this whole mess).

Take it easy. If someone wants to put 20's or 22's, so be it. I have 20's on my tl and it looks pretty damn good. Todays cars can easily fit 20's. If you take time to open your mind, the whole point is to get rid of wheel well gap. That's why you see people with 18's or 19's, then they turn around and spend more money to lower their car. That doesn't make much sense either! I've viewed this forum for awhile and I see people on here replacing stock 17's with aftermarket 17's! Again, open your mind and understand that both ways are achieving the same goal, no wheel well gap! Also, people quote performance on this forum allot. Unless one of you are Dale Earnhart, you really shouldn't be that concerned with it. I mean really, are you all out there like the fast and the furious? Come on! And by the way, I'm 28 so it's not just teenagers putting bigger wheels on cars. You really shouldn't comment on something you can't comprehend, "Mr. Corporate America"!

If your comments are directed at me I think you may have missed a critcial peice of the puzzle. I too have 19's on my car so I understand the logic (to a point of reason). 20's push that reason but why not put 24's on the car if your gonna go with 22's? They both jack the car up and make it look funky. I mean the REAL idea here is to simply get the biggest, wheels under the car, right? No point in worrying about whether it looks out of place or performs like crap or rides rough, right? Just because you can put a dress and lipstick on a pig does NOT make it a prom date, it's still just pre-processed Bacon wearing a dress. IMHO (and apparently MANY others) that is what putting 22's on a TL is, inappropraite, childish, etc. If the original poster wants more info I'll leave it to him and you guys to battle it out on here as I am done with this pointless drivel about 22's.
