What do you put on your tires?

Anyone have any recommendations for tire cleaner? I've used a few cheap ones, but they always seem to sling spots all over the wheels and surrounding body panels. Any help would be appreciated.

Good call, I just noticed this on my NBP, the above body panels in the front have these light streaks of the spray I put on my tires.....difficult to remove without washing...

Tire cleaner or do you mean Tire treatment to make them nice and black? If it is the latter, I use Meguiars Endurance. It is a purple grape smelling gel - works great. Comes in a regular and a shiny. I use the regular. Works great and lasts too.

You're probably using an aerosol product, aren't you?

Try using a gel product which is applied with a foam applicator pad. The gel products are much thicker and, I believe, last longer than the aerosol products.

You can pick various kinds up in any auto parts store.

i use meguiars endurance as well but it only lasts a week or two like most other cleaners. once it rains it will go away almost immediately. i have not come across any tire dressing that will with stand a drive in the rain. i also put on a very thin coat just to make the wheels black, i dun like it shiny.

I wash the tires with Dawn and water. (Use a brush if gross. ) P21 wheel cleaner if wheels are dirty. Use plain old armorall as a tire dressing. Wipe it on let it sit for 10 minutes then wipe off the excess with a paper towel. A bit of a shine no sling lasts about two weeks. I would not use amorall on the interior, but many forums are recommending it for tires.

Tom

I too have had good results with Maguiars Endurance. Have not applied a dressing to my TL yet, as I have only had it a week and a half.

Zaino Z-16. I use a "tire sponge", let it dry some and buff with a cloth towel. It has a nice matte black look and doesn't look painted on. A second application may be needed to get a uniform coat.

STP son of a gun aerosol spray it's only $2 !!!! the best part is you don't have to apply it, you just spray it on and let it sit, no wiping, no run off, no mess...

My experience with spray is that it comes off fast and gets all over ur rims. I recomend meguiars endurance. Its good stuff.

vtechbrain: Semen works for me! Intresting, but i don't need anymore details.

left over wash water and a stiff brush. After all, there are tires, and they are made of rubber which needs to breathe in order to prevent dry rot.

Black Magic Tire Wet Foam. Quick, easy, looks good and lasts just as long as the rest. Make sure you let the car sit long enough for it to run off/dry and you won't get any 'spritz' on the body.

I'd think the car would lunge forward more often and have a tendency to get hit from behind.

Actually, a triple-organic loofa will work well with your tires and a little Lava soap.
