SPARKLE SILVER

Part#'s for the rims/years with or without TPMS in part# order:

04 A-Spec Gunmetal Rims (Not Available-Discontinued)

08W18-SEP-200G – 06 TL Sparkle Silver TPMS

All rims are now 18x8 in series 200B - 200G.

They havent produced a Gunmetal rim since 2004...so no. The 04 rim was the 18x8.5 inch rim that they found was a problem....so they redesigned them in 05 to 8" wide...among the reasons were the 8.5" rim stuck out from the tire so much it was very vulnerable to curb damage as the tire provided NO protection whatsover from "curbing it". Truely...they arent much better now as if you rub a curb...they are screwed too....but they dont stick out from the wheel as much as they did with the 8.5" rim....cause they didnt change the tire spec at all between years. The ONLY year they made the true gunmetal wheel was in 2004 though...then after...they went to the three rims above, which are now readily available for both 05/06 models (obviously they fit 04's too) as well as the 06 style with the TPMS sensors.

The 2004 Gunmetal rims that are left are supposedly being saved for warrantee work for the OEM 2004 customers as they have a high incidence of such....so attaining a set of 2004 Gunmetal rims is all but impossible unless you find them on ebay or on black market, which often have issues of some sort (rashes, ect). There are those that have gotten lucky....but dont count on it....not likely. Although you do find every now and then somebody that has a set in the blackmarket forum here in AZ. But then again...you kind of have to be sure they are talking about the right 8.5" rim...and are not incorrectly re-assigning the gunmetal name to one of the two 8" rims pictured above (obviously the chrome look rim is the chrome look rim....so not much confusion there).

Hopefully that helps?

Either the Platinum (Satin) or Chrome Look wheels will look great. I have the Satin wheels on my SSM, but I think the Chrome looks super sharp on the darker colors.

Okay you've convinced me

I am going to go with the satin finish wheels. As far as the tires are concerned I am leaning toward the Michelic Pilot A/S 245/40ZR-18.
