Varrstoen Wheel

What are your thoughts on Varrstoen wheels? I like their ES1, ES5, ES7 looks. I realize that these rims may be knock offs of BBS rims.

Does anyone have experience with these?

Are there comparable wheels at these prices? I really like the deep polished lip that the ES series rims offer.

Because they are deep rims, for 18" wheels, what offsets will not work nor look nice on 2008 TL?

Because they are deep rims, for 18" wheels, what offsets will work and look nice on 2008 TL?

Are these wheels well made? I live in the city where there are streetcar tracks and many potholes.

Will 18x10 fit on the 2008 TL without rubbing or sticking out?

Thanks in advanced. New member with CBP 2008 TL.

varrstoen wheels are pretty popular.
who cares if they are replicas?
they hold up well and come in different styles and sizes and specs!

18x10 will fit if you roll and pull your fenders.

the rears are 18x10.5 +30

I'm not going to comment on fitment because that's up to you, but Varrstoen seems to make very nice wheels.

Quite a few members here have them. Off the top of my head TLDude and The Machine have Varrstoens.

I have been pondering the ES2 for a while.

They do make replicas, but the prices are affordable and quality is better than most reps.

Nice set up, I really like your 09-12 Fogs? Do they rub?

I was hoping not to roll fenders. How much would rolling the fenders cost and is it an easy job for any shop or should I look for a reputable body shop?

If I go 18x10, is there specific offsets to avoid? Should I be trying to get as low offset in this case as possible because of the width of the tire? I do not have Brembos, if that matters.

Are these rims relatively light or heavy compared to OEM TL rims?

I also have OEM suspension, is this a good thing as I would be a tad too high for rubbing?

I believe the rims are 18x10.5 (they do not make 10) +15.
Tires are 225/40/18

More questions (sorry):
Will these wheels and tires be a good match for my car?
For sure I will have to roll fenders because they will stick out with this set up?
Will they rub with my OEM suspension with a lot of potholes (Toronto)?
Will I feel a dramatic decrease in my braking power (non brembos)?

they are inspire fogs from the Honda Inspire from Japan(99-03 Acura TL)

does the wheels rub? no, because TLDUDE has rolled and pulled his fenders while using a minor stretch in tires.

everyone will be different with their wheel specs.
it just depends on what you want and what your goals are for the car.
TLDUDE chose 18x10.5 + 30 in the rears to accomplish what you see in the pics above.

if you are on stock suspension, you will have no trouble clearing. lol 4x4 status.
and your car wont look as baller as the pics because you are not dropped.

but choosing a set of wheels is based upon your preference and goals.
if you want to achieve the same look TLDUDE has, you need lots of work.

plus, by going this route you'll need to learn to compromise.

That's a beefy rim. A few members have gone that width and offset, but it takes a good amount of work. I would research some more before diving into it. Google tl.Acurazine and that wheel size and you should find people with the set up. Ebelp actually has 18x10 +18 iirc in back, so you can see his fitment. Yours would be even wider g than that. Look a little farther back in his threads too, as he is now on air.

The 18x10.5+15 will be very aggressive on the TL and you will definitely need to run a lot of negative camber, a good stretch for the tires, and roll/pull the fenders. Since you do not have Brembos, any of our 18x10.5+30 will work on the TL as long as the rear fenders are rolled, tires are stretched, and depending how low you go, you may have to cut the metal tab where the fender and bumper meets.

I have done 18x10.5+30 on my TL and with the right tire and a roll, had no rubbing issues. If you plan to run 225/40 on the wheels, you should be fine. Even a 235 will be fine. Once you step into 245 and up, then you may run into rubbing issues.

That's amazing, I didn't know Varrstoen is a member here.

So I may have to roll fenders and 18x10.5 +15 (225/40/18) should fit my car without rub as it's on stock suspension (4x4 as another member suggested)?

Noob questions:
So the +15 offset is better for my preference if I rather the wheels not stick out, as it may sit flush because of it's wide base?

Will I require a chamber kit if I do not want a serious angled wheel/uneven treadwear? or will it not be that bad.

The lower the offset number means the more it will poke out. The +15 is 15mm out more compared to the +30. 15mm is about 1/2"-3/4". The +15mm offset will only be required if you have Brembos in the front.

However since you mentioned that you did not, the +30 will do fine with the right tires and fenders rolled.

This real aggressive setup is going to look pretty out of place on stock suspension...

thank you. I was checking out these used rims that had that offset. I may just keep looking/waiting or buy new with the better offset +30 for my car. I have the option to fit the wheels on and see how it fits though, but I guess I should expect that 15mm sticking out. I do not want that look, but it may not be that noticeable if I have the fenders rolled.

I do intend to upgrade the suspension eventually.

You forgot to add the increased rim width to your poke. No amount of rolling will work. //-\\ is only way. And its not gonna be minor.

Here is some info:
They are based out of southern California. Varrstoen is the brand and they import wheels that are manufactured in Taiwan foundries. Varrstoen doesn't actually have a "wheel factory", they are just a brand that markets/stocks/etc.. the wheels. They do have international distributors now as the wheels have become fairly popular.

And my opinion, they are fine for average daily use. Don't expect them to hold up to a pot hole and dont consider racing on them. But they look good and roll.

good information about the possibility of a Taiwanese manufacturer. and interesting marketing..

What is the optimal wheel width when buying? 18x8.5?

the stock is 17x8 +45

so anything wider than 8 inches is ideal.

I'm thinking of snaggin some TE37's from a friend in 18x9.5 +22

which is plenty aggressive for my needs.

Hey guys I'm new to acurazine and very interested in the Varrstoen ES2 19x9.5 +22 offset. I don't want to have a really aggressive look, in fact i just want to throw them on and lower it enough to look good. My question is what will it take to make these wheels fit?

I have a 05 TL w/Brembo so i know i would be needing spacers in the front to make them fit, but not sure what size and if i would need spacers in the back also? I'm guessing i would need a fender roll and camber kits.

Some guidance and opinions would greatly be helpful.

I understand i would be needing spacers but can i go with 15mm spacers and not have it poke out? I rather get a spacers with studs already instead of putting extended studs in. Any help with this would be appreciated. Was looking into ichiba v2 15mm spacers

15mm spacers up front with 9.5 +22 would be poke city. What you need for that size ES 2 is a 7mm spacer. May require extended studs, not positive tho. I run a 5mm spacer in back without them, but not sure how much further you can take that.

I'm looking for a VarrsToen ES2.2.1 setup for my 08 Type S. I just purchased the car and I'm looking to convert to Aspec suspension (minimal drop but enough so it looks decent)

Can you give me some specs and retail (spacers/rubbing etc)

I like how the ES221's look and would want to run either 18s or 19s with coilovers. BTW I have brembos in the front and not a fan of fender rolling. what size rim and tire would you suggest?
