Upgrading from TLS wheels to 17inch wheels - is it worth it?

yes the stock TLS rims are already 17's man. Get yourself atleast some 18's if u wanna spend the loot for new rims.
BUT, if u upgrades the 17's u wouldnt need new tires cuz your stock rim tires will work

depends on the rims you are choosing.....the rims you want might be way out of your price range in 18's, but in your price range with 17's. I would rather have a well designed rim that fits the package, then a cheezy / adaquate set of 18's on your TL. What rims were you thinking of ?

I was thinking of getting 17x8's or 17x7.5's for my car ... The TL-S rims are only 17x6.5 which is pretty damn thin ... can't get a nice wide tire on the car easily without wider rims. I wanna go with at least 235/45/17 tires on the car, so I'm looking for a 17x7.5 rim ... Additional advantages are reduced weight over the stock rim+tire setup which equals less unsprung weight which will help with track times (and overall make the car faster).
I was considering the SSR GT-1's just because I think they look sweet ... SSR Competitions are lighter and around the same price but I don't think they look that good.
Just gotta come up with about $1700 or so to buy all of it ... haha, don't have anywhere close to that right now for mods.
Anyways, getting aftermarket 17s doesn't sound like that bad of an idea ... prolly less worry about rubbing on 17s too.
Here's a pic of scooter's CL with 17" SSR GT-1's for reference...

Yes, I realize that the size is the same and because I spent good money on Z rated SP9000's last year, I don't want to flush them down the toilet or sell them for next to nothing.
Keep the pics coming! (and btw, my primary motivation is cosmetic)

Hey Hemants,
Depends on what you want ... if you're into taking your car to the track, then 17" would be the way to go (between 17" or 18"). Or if you are more ride-oriented then 17" would be logical choice.
However, if you want looks and an improvement on handling (marginal) with a compromise on ride quality, then 18" would be the way to go.
Since you've got some Dunlops you don't want to waste, then I guess you've already made up your mind. Can I suggest OZ Superleggera? Superlight, strong rims that would good on a TLS (IMHO).
Is your car lowered? That helps with looks and performance by an immeasurable amount.
