Another? Is this some sort of rampant problem? Can't say as I've ever heard of valve stem cap theft (and I used to live in a ghetto apartment complex with some nice chrome on the car)...

Truthfully, I'm not really too worried about the caps themselves, but the fact that somebody has stolen some of my property in my own driveway is what irks me. That, and this very person (or people) know where my car is, and may try to do something else later like deflate the tires, or even try to steal my aspec rims (however unlikely). That is what I'm worried about.
And that is why I just ordered some wheel locks, but I'm still looking for a good solution as a theft + mischief deterrant for my valve stems...
BTW, I searched the forum on 'griots', and it seems a fair amount of people have talked about these caps. However, along with what someone else has said earlier, $36 for plastic caps? Talk about markup. The Chromies that I am looking at are chrome-plated brass, with a metal key... and they are for $17!!!

Huh, you learn something new everyday...never had a problem with my old wheels, though...valve stem caps...really makes you wonder about some people...
The ones you linked don't sound too bad...I'm guessing you can get them in all chrome versus one of those colors. I think the Groits ones price is to cover the licensing of the logos (maybe?).

Chill_dog,
Yea, I feel a little nit-picky about this; they are just valve caps! But I was looking at my rims again this morning, and those black plastic caps just don't go with my wheels... heh

If you frustrate a really nasty kid, you run the risk of getting your tire slashed or your car keyed. The cost of a plastic cap is a minor annoyance and cost when compared to other possibilities that nut can do to your car.

Several of mine disappeared early on, but I highly doubt they were stolen.
I suspect that my valve stem covers were loose from the factory or from dealer prep, and they vibrated themselves free. I replaced the missing covers and snugged them down nicely and I've had no others take flight.
Regards,
