Type S Wheels on a 3rd Gen.

I am very serious about getting the 04 TL, but I wanted to know if the 17" 2001-2002 CL's Wheels Will Fit/Look Good on a 3rd Generation. I have a 99 TL with the CL-S Wheels, and if anything I would trade my car in and get the 04 TL, does anyone think this would look stupid? Does anyone have pictures of it, that is why I posted this in the PIC GALLERY

I don't think it would look stupid at all... I think it would look fantastic...though I would probably not do it for the simple reason that the stock 3GL wheels are wider...

You would probably need to get wheel spacers or something to make it work... But I think it would look fine...

Funny that you mentioned those wheels because I was thinking of the same thing. I prefer the alloy wheel finish over the powder coated grey. The only reason I haven't is because the 04 wheels are wider than the others.

But I would to se some pics of 04 w/ TL - S or CL- S rims.

Let me know if you find anything.

More appropriate to Tires & Wheels, where you may also get more replies. Lots of photos there also.

my guess would be that they are not wide enough or lack the proper offset

Note that type S rims comes in w/ a +55 offset & yours is a +45 offset.

The CL-S wheels are of 55 offset with 7-inch wide while the 04-05 TL wheels are of 45 offset with 8-inch wide. The CL-S wheels installed on a TL will be about 0.9 inch "deeper" than the originals. Unless you want to get 1-inch or thicker spacers, it won't look good.

Ultimately I know the 04 rims are wider and would perform better, but I was just curious to see how the other rims would look.

Anyone know a link to some pics?
