^^^^The parts guys at Curry are clueless. They sold both A and B kits to 3 Azine members who specifically requested the MT kit:

^^curry told me that 202A superseded 201A which superseded 200A (the original 6MT Aspec for the 04-06).

It was not confidence inspiring when the guy answering the phone when I called one time, had no clue what Aspec was. The only guys over there that have any clue are the managers. The little minions are not well versed in the Aspec parts line up.

I am now seriously interested in the A Spec suspension. I like the look of it being OEM and doesn't hurt the alignment specs as much

Just a little camber in the rear but it's not bad enough to worry

Is the Progress 24mm bar (with the soft bushings) on a TL-S the best choice for better/flatter but not "hairy" cornering? I'm on stock suspension otherwise...

Picked up my Aspec suspension today. The serial numbers on the actual parts are not what I expected.

08W60-SEP-2M10-Ca &
08W60-SEP-2M10-Ba

Any thoughts?

^^the part numbers on the damper itself are designated Lt. And Rt. on the front with the specific lettering. This is solely for Acura parts tracking (what I was told). The rears have the same lettering and part number on the damper.

If you look at your stock suspension you will see that the fronts have different letter designations vs. the rear.

The parts will fit regardless.

The "kit" number is different than the actual damper P/N.

Has anyone experienced quicker tire wear going from Base to A-spec even after setting toe to zero? I have 144k on my TL so im thinking the shocks need replaced... So im considering the A-spec upgrade maybe next year. This year is brakes, 2 tires, and those lovely compliance bushings :/

Tire wear isn't a problem with aspec. Waiting 144,000 miles is a problem, the stock shocks are likely doing little to nothing. You should feel a huge difference going from a 144,000 mile stock worn out suspension to aspec.

Quite the opposite sir. I had 160k on my TL with the OEM base suspension and was seeing premature tire wear on the fronts due to the worn suspension. Moved to the A-Spec suspension and got new tires at that point. 35k later, the tires still had tons of life left with nice even wear.

Great thank you for the feedback! How does it feel on the bumpy roads vs base? So no worries with rear camber out of spec with the small height deduction? I would love to put on the A-spec this year but I already purchased brakes and the compliance bushings need done and will need 2 tires come fall. Or does it make sense to due shocks before bushings since the worn shocks may stress the bushings and cause them to wear prematurely along with the tires? Or suck it up and do it all thats over $1k though :/

"Out of spec" rear camber to the negative side is fairly standard for the 3G TL. It's not uncommon to see -1.8 to -1.9. There doesn't seem to be any adverse effect from this as long as you keep toe in spec. If rear toe gets "out of spec", then expect rapid wear on the rear tire/s edges.

I would go A-Spec, TL-S won't get you a drop.

I don't think A-Spec is rough at all, still comfortable and the car feels more planted to the road.

The A-Spec kit isn't bad in price, especially if you know someone that can get a discount on the whole kit. Hopefully I know someone lol

I'm going to order my A Spec Suspension 08W60-SEP-201B for my AT 2008 TL TYPE S. Hopefully the drop will be at least 1/2" to 3/4" after a few days. I will take before and after pictures.

I got confirmation that this is the right part number for my 2008 Acura TL TYPE S AT. I know it is for the Manual TL TYPE S but I want to drop in the front

That's for the individual strut. The part number your looking for is 08W60-SEP-201B. Which is for the set of four. I just got mine from http://www.oemacuraparts.com. Use promo code SWOOSH to cut your shipping in half. If your from canada PM me I'll let you know how to bring it over with out duty or tax. Good luck.

It is sold as a whole assembly. The only way to get just the springs is if someone sells a set in the black market

I wanted to do the same thing, then realized i would have had to buy both the konis and full aspec suspension. Decided it wasent worth it.

If you want I can check to see if the springs alone have a part number. But as far as I can think of there isn't a way around buying the springs as a set. I got mine from the states cause it's almost sold out in North America. I'll check though this week end when I get back into town. Good luck.

I read through this thread but might have skipped over the answer if it was in here but is the ASPEC suspension MT interchangeable between the auto and manual? I think the only difference between the two is the weight difference between the auto and manual.

BallinOnABuget and I are both thinking about going ASPEC. He's auto and I'm 6 speed manual. He'd sit a little lower as long being he has an automatic.

yes, it is interchangeable. It would be the front that's lower due to the 5AT transmission being heavier.

New to the forum and new to the 3G TL family. I've always wanted a TL-S but couldn't afford them when they came out. Anyhow, I just purchased an '08 AT TL-S and want to improve the handling. With that being said, should I get the APEC kit or just change out the shocks and RSB with the Progressive one? I'm having a hard time locating a kit but do see one from an Acura Parts Dealer in FL for about $620 shipped. Looks like most kits are discontinued now. Unless someone here has one for sale for less???

Thanks in advance.

A-spec springs

Hi all,

New to Acurazine as well with an 07 TL.
Wish I purchased a-spec suspension when it was available. Now you can't even find a used set of A-spec springs let alone the MT version.

A-spec springs look to be a great compromise with slight drop and increased performance. Currently have H&R sport springs with koni yellow. Drop is nice but a little too low for my taste only because I live in NY where potholes can be raised above ground over 2 inches. Just my .
