There are always new models of tires coming out. I have read many of the posts regarding sizes and styles. I have Konig Tantrum 18'' rims so I am looking at a 225/40R18. I am listing 6 models that I am debating between. If any of you have heard of these (which I hope some have) could you respond with your preference of which you think is the best choice?
Toyo Proxes T1S
Yokohama Parada
Yokohama AVS db
Yokohama AVS Sport
Michelin Pilot Sport
Eagle F1 GS-D2
Discount Tire carries all of these models, and pricing is similar, I would just like some feedback. Thanx guys!

I have the Toyo T1-S tires on my Tl 225/40-18. I am not tire expert but they work extremely well in dry and wet conditions. These are basically spring, summer, and fall tires. An added advantage to these tires is the rim protector which helps ith 18" rims. Also, I love the tread pattern. And it has a tread ratting of 280 which is pretty good.

I would go with Kumho's they are very very good tires with very low price.
Check out these website. It give you some ratings.

Kumho's have just as good rating if not bettan than most the tires on the list for about the 1/2 the price.
If you want to check out some other tires try
www.tirerack.com
I hope this helps

If I had money, I would go with the T1S, if I was on a budget I would go with the Kumho. I had the older T1's on my previous car and those were already awesome. My cousin has the Kumho's on his Type R and they perform quite well, he drives quite hard too!

Yeah...
I went to Discount Tire down the street and he said that the Pilot Sports are what he runs on his 530i. He said they have incredible control and feel. My only concern is that they have a 220 for the tread rating. Does that mean I will have to get new tires every 20,000 miles? $250 a tire times 4 = $1000 for new tires every what.... year and a half? OUCH!!!

Not sure about the tread rating. Check with TL Daddy. He has these tires, maybe he can tell you how they wear. Yeah they come standard on BMW's with the Sport pkg.
When i get rims next spring i want to put these on my car also.

Of course now with all your input... I'm even more confused! not really but I have to consider other options as well. I have been reading more reviews on different tires, and I have eliminated a few. So what do you others think of the following?
(NOTE: this isnt just for me, but for all those who do searches and want to know what to get!)
1. Toyo Proxes T1-S
2. Dunlop Sport 9000
3. Kumho Ecsta Supra 712
4. Yokohama Parada
5. Bridgestone Potenza S-03
6. Michelin Pilot Sport
Note: All the above come in 225/40 and 235/40 except the Yokohama Parada's.

At Discount Tire the Kuhmo's are only about $120 a piece. The pilot Sports are $250 a piece. I went to Les Schwab and they tried to sell me on the T1s for $230 a piece. But on ACP.com... the T1s are only $188 each. I'm still trying to find the better deal... but I'm leaning more toward everyone recommendation to go with the Kuhmo's... at least for my first set. If I dont like them I can always but better tires later.

What about the Potenza RE710? I was comparing tires a while ago, and tirerack rated them very high, even higher than the more expensive S line. I thought Tim sold them on here, but I can't seem to find them anymore. They were ~$140 in the size I was looking for.
I agree about tires with that little lip to protect the rims, too. Can be a lifesaver/rim saver. Plus, I think it makes the sidewall stiffer, and corners better plus can handle potholes better without worrying about your rim getting bent. Not sure if that is true, though...
