TPMS sensor question

can civic or cr-v tpms sensors work on a 3g tl?
can they be programed?

i'm going to run other wheels and didn't want to take the sensors off my stock wheels, i have a spare set of civic and cr-v sensors, just wondering if they work.
thanks

They cannot be programmed AFIK, they work on a specific frequency. You best bet is to check and see if the oem part numbers are the same.

I'm certain you'll find that the part numbers aren't the same as the configuration of the wheel makes a difference in the assembly. Actually aftermarket part numbers are different between the 2 vehicles, but that doesn't indicate that they aren't compatible with the receiver. Honda Pilot sensors are the same, so very possible that the sensors will work, but bottom line, I guess it would require a test. Also if the configuration is different, they may be compatible with the receiver, but won't be able to bolt to the wheels without an adapter.
Maybe someone else will be able to give a definitive answer.
