TPMS question

Hey guys,

Quick question: Can you install tpms on the non-tpms wheels? I just bought an 07 TL-S and I'm looking to throw on the gunmetal aspecs wheels that I currently have on my 2005 TL. Yay? Nay?

THANKS,
Eric

You don't need to do that, though. Just take the TPMS off of the Type-S wheels, and transfer them to the A-Specs! Simple as that.

No stupidity, but it brings up a question I'm not certain of the answer. Haven't looked at the valve stem area on the A Spec wheels, but as the TPMS system was fitted to the TL in '06, and the A Spec wheel part numbers differ between the '04/'05 and '06/'08, I would believe you will need to make certain that the correct wheel/year would be used to accept the TPMS system. Maybe those more knowledgeable will answer the question.

Take a look at the wheels on your '05 and make certain that the opening around the valve stem is large enough to accept the TPMS nut.
