TPMS question

I installed tpms sensors into some after market wheels but it hasn't sync'd up. Maybe I just haven't driven it enough. It reads 58psi in my dash but I know for a fact that all 4 tires were set at 36psi I double checked with my air pressure gauge. They are oem sensors but enough though they are mounted completely within the tire are the schraeder vavles suppose to be in there? how about the valve stem cap? I don't think the cap would matter but maybe the schraeder valve would. If so I may have to go back and have them put those into the tpms sensors.

Mine took about 20 minutes of driving to sync back up after I got new rims.

What did it do in the mean time? Because at 1st it was reading 58psi but now its not reading anything. I have been reading in my shop manual and it says that they need to be paired using HDS going through the dlc.

Could it have to do with the part # of the tpms sensor? The part # is 42753-STK-A02. I decided to go with those because it was mentioned here on acurazine that they were compatible by someone in this thread.

They were reading something like 60psi before they went back to normal.

How come you didn't just use the OEM ones? Mine bolted straight back on to my rims.

When I installed new TPMS a while ago, they read 58psi and i was like WTF?!!! But drove about 40-50 miles like Al said and a few restarts later it was working.

But I used these, 06421-S3V-A03 (06 TL).

How many miles have you driven? How many restarts have you done?

Edit: I was thinking the same thingg Al

Yea I know but I was going on some information I found in a thread. I linked it above. Last time I trust info off of here without verifying it myself 1st. That is my fault.

Well I purchased new ones so I wouldn't have to dismount and remount the old wheels and tires to remove them. It would of cost the same to just get new sensors. But I went with bad advice and screwed myself oh well $140 lesson learned.

But let it be known that part #42753-STK-A02 is not compatible with an 07 acura tl type-s

$140 to dismount/remount tires for sensors? The place I went to charged me 10 bucks for all that.

Just plug your oem sensors in and sell the ones that don't work and you'll only lose like 50 bucks.

Well they have to unseat the old tires off the old wheels to get the sensors out then they have to dismount the new tires from the new wheels remove the none working sensors (via iforged bracket) to put the old sensors into the brackets and then remount and rebalance the new tires and wheels again. But the $140 is to correct the problem. If the sensors had been the right ones it would of only cost me the original $80. But now it will cost me an extra $140 to fix this mess.

But yes I plan on putting the old ones back in and then selling off the wrong ones. Anyone needs TPMS sensors for their MDX, RDX or TSX? HA

A slightly less blurry picture but neither of them are good. It certainly needs a drop but I think this is going to be my last major purchase for myself/car with my baby due right around the corner. Maybe for my birthday or xmas those are still coming up this year.

whoohoo! Put the old sensors back in and I'm good to go again. Now to send back these non compatible sensors and sell these stock wheels and tires.

Don't sell them for less than a grand. I sold mine for that much without tpms and I know I could've gotten more.

Yea I was thinking like $1000 plus shipping. That includes the tires but not the tpms sensors. They do have regular valve stems in them though. I will have to get some good pictures of the condition of the wheels and post them in the Black Market section.
