Toyo Proxes 4 or Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S?
Well,I'm sick of the handling/ride characteristics of the stock POS EL-42 Bridgstones Turdanzas and would like to upgrade to some real tires.
I've searched and read so much, but still remain undecided, largely because either the reports I've read about each of the 2 tires (Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S/Toyo Proxes 4) either have not listed all their mods i.e. suspension or tire sizes and I know many have teh A-Spec suspension or different wheels etc. So it makes deciding based on their testimonials very frustrating and inconclusive.
So here we go again.I know I know .. it's been beaten to death already, but can I please get some opinions/testimonials about these 2 tires, preferably with all spec's listed.
I am sticking with the stock 17" factory rims/wheels and I have the A-Spec suspension installed. TIA all

I drove on them both on my 04TL after replacing the Turanza's. First had P-Zero's, they flatspotted in cool weather(below 45 degrees) after I parked overnight. Then I tried Proxes, but were noisy, then the car was totalled.
When I have to replace my stock 17" Pilots on my 06TL, I'll stay with Michelin.

I have the Toyo Proxes 4 on my '04 TL on factory wheels - 245/45-17 size. They are definitely noisier than the factory rubber. I have a small vibration problem as well at about 70 mph. I had them road-force balanced at Discount Tire and it helped the vibration, but didn't fix it. Road noise isn't a big problem, though. You'd have to be awfully picky to let this bother you. I'm picky and it's fine with me.
I don't know whether I have a balance issue or a tire issue - it' s somewhat of a drag, because 70 mph is a speed I spend a lot of time at.

I have Toyo Proxes 4s on my Toyota Solara in 225/60 R16 size.
Handling and ride are very good, though I do have a slight vibration. I chalked up the vibration to a poor balance job, but perhaps it's inherent in the tire?
My only major complaint is snow performance. The car is DANGEROUS in the snow.
If snow performance is important to you then the Proxes 4 is NOT for you.
I had an earlier version of the Proxes on my 1993 Toyota Camry and they were all around great tires, perhaps better than the 4s.
Good luck!

I got home today to find out that my Pirellis were dropped off at my porch, I bought the 245/45-17 and they look wide...on a closer look I noticed that they need to go on the rim a certain way (not a directional tire but they are clearly marked, inside/ out side)...
Too bad I may have to wait for the weekend to get them installed since I'm doing mega OT at work.....can you say 14 hour days...$$$$
