Top Mounts with SS Coil Overs.

I'm thinking about going with a set of coil overs for my TL base. I really like the Tien SS for the EDFC compatibility, and was wondering do I have to reuse my factory top mounts with the SS coil overs? I checked with raceinspired.com and they quote "The Tien SS Coil Overs Do NOT come with the top mounts". Should I reuse my factory mounts buy new ones or what? If I have to buy new ones, any idea where I can find them at a reasonable price?

If you re-use the old top mounts, you'll have to get a spring compressor to remove them (I highly recommend not going this route as it's a PITA!), along with re-using some of the old parts like washers, collars, nuts, and rubber bushes. If you don't want to go that route, you could buy the parts you need and it would be a lot quicker to do the install. Here's the installation instructions from Tein.

^^What he said. Or you could buy new/used factory top mounts and make everything a breeze without having to use the spring compressor. Unfortunately I couldn't find a used set so I bought a new set from OEMAcuraPartsTim for ~$200.

Cool thanks. I couldn't get the page to load, I'll just try later. Are you running Tien SS coil overs? if you are did you go with the EDFC. I"m really debating on heeltoeauto's type 2 coil overs the tien ss, or megan racing. I"m just trying to justify paying for the coil overs with EDFC, when I honestly don't understand it would improve the overall satisfaction.

I'm basically daily driving, I'm just looking for a nice drop (I do a little aggressive driving).

I have Tein SS without the EDFC right now. At times, I wish I had gotten it to adjust my dampening, but this is my DD and I don't seem to mind the settings I have set them at. I'd probably go with whatever is cheaper that already come with top hats. They all have the same function.

I have the megans. They are really good, it seems like all you want is a nice drop, decent ride quality and a good price. Even if you don't have the edfc it is not hard to adjust the front or remove the back seat to adjust the rear.

I'm currently still stock but getting everything in preparation to lower the car and do other mods. Tein SS, KW V1, and H&R coilovers are what I'm considering as my suspension options. If I go with the Tein SS, I will definitely be running the EDFC. I wouldn't want to pull out my rear seats every time I want to adjust dampening. The other two options doesn't matter because they don't offer dampening adjustment.

The EDFC might not improve overall satisfaction but it is a convenience knowing you can adjust dampening at the push of a button instead of ripping out the rear seats and adjusting each and every corner. Whether it is worth the added cost is up to you. Knowing what I had to go through in previous cars to adjust dampening, it is worth it to me.

Found some Tien SS coil overs for $939.00 I think that's the cheapest I've seen them.

If you are going with new top hats, consider going with type-s solid bushings.

I just checked Heeltoe and his price is below 939 after the azine discount. Support the vendors!

Acurazine discount? I didn't know that, I'll definitely buy from Heeltoe.
