TL-S 20mm sway bar on base? anyone?
Yes of course the Progress or CT one would be better. I am wondering if anybody has tried the stock TL-S 20mm to replace their 17mm base/auto?

I agree. But I just happened to be reading an old thread about the TL-S spoiler being a "part" instead of an accessory and it only cost ~100USD before. So, I thought I would check the price of the 20mm sway bar to see if it's a part or accessory. It's only $35 from Acura. thought it would be a nice upgrade for the base model. I already have Tein Basic on my TL and think this might be a nice enough addition. Sure beats $145 for CT or Progress. I don't intend to ever track the car.

These appear to be the part numbers needed. All the other parts look like they are reused. I cross referenced the part numbers off the diagrams on acuraoemparts.com. btw, you should need 2 bushings. Can someone confirm if you have to use TL-S bushings or not?

The 04 to 06 Base is 17mm
The 04 to 06 6MT is 20mm Hollow
07 to 08 TL-S is 20mm Solid
I have an 04 Base with the 08 TL-S bars front and rear with EG Bushings, And works sooooo good. Also have Koni's with A-Spec. Just dont put a bar that is to big with no other Mods to the Suspension. With a bar that is way to stiff for the car and stock suspension you are going to get a large amount of Under steer. IE the Back end is going to come around much faster then you can control it in a corner. And it’s going to feel twitchy at speed.

Larger front bar will get you more understeer (front pushing)
I have the a-spec springs with Konis, a 24mm Progress bar in the soft setting and urethane front bushings. Setup like this, the car slightly oversteers. I has a little understeer in initial turn-in and the tail will come out during steady state cornering. I can't imagine people who have their Progress bar in the firm setting. My guess is they don't push the limits too often.

Yea used the wrong term the car will over steer. Either way you don't just want to stick a 24mm RSB in there and think it's done. With no other supporting mod's to back up that RSB it's just not going to work. They would work out if we did it to and EVO8 but not a Base TL.

I have an 08 base w/ no suspension mods. Would you advise going w/ the 6mt 20mm hollow bar or the TL-S 20mm solid bar?

As the 08's were upgraded to a "stiffer" 18.3mm hollow RSB, I wonder if the move to a solild 20mm bar would be noticeable. I assume that the solid bar would be stiffer if they use the same metals. The 2 threads I found pertaining to this issue conflict in that they say the 04 6mt RSB is hollow 20mm and the 07 TL-S RSB is solid. I'm thinking they may be the same part.

I just recently upgrade from the 05 AT 17mm RSB to the TL-S 20mm and it made the car handle exactly how i like it. A little understeer while reducing the body roll. For the money its hard to beat! It cost about $35

I have an 04 6MT bar with the brackets to mount of the car and bushings if anyone is looking for one, 53k on it. Not trying to hijack the thread, but ANY sway bar upgrade is well worth it. I put the Progress RSB and the difference was NIGHT and DAY. Car feels so much more poised and has loads more front end grip now that it actually doesn't roll as much.

I am getting the a-spec suspension and might as well put the TL-S sway bar in while I am at it. I searched around but I couldn't find where it is confirmed that I can just swap out bars or if you need additional hardware with it. Can anyone confirm for me?

Brackets and hardware are the same. Only difference is the bushing ID. Even going from a 25mm front to a 28mm front used the same brackets.
