You guys just getting the Pilot A/X tires will be VERY pleased. I had them on my 02 TL-S and was super impressed. They were worth every penny.

When I was negotiating for my new 04TL, thanks to the posts here, I told them I did not want EL42s, and instead wanted Pilot A/S's. They came back with $30 a tire plus installation, I said "DONE"!!

I got the car yesterday, and it is as smooth as silk. It rained on the way home, and it did not even matter! What a great car! What exceptional tires.

If any of you can manage to get these, it will be worth the agrivation.

I may be imagining, but damn these tires rock. Rained real hard this morning, and it felt like I was glued to the ground. So far all the posts I've seen about these tires are dead on. If you want to replace tires...you can't go wrong with Michelin Pilot Sports. Dealership GM held to his word and gave me $125/tire for my Turanzas, free labor and a loaner car for the day. I ended up paying just over $300 for the Pilots.

Unfortunately every one of my rims is now ruined. Somehow the tire machine put a circular scratch/groove all the way around on every one. What I don't get is why someone didn't catch it (yeah right), and WHY they didn't fess up. Like I wouldn't notice as soon as I picked up the car!! So today the car is back at the dealership getting four new rims. (sigh) I just want this saga to end.

Did you get the Pilot Sports or Sport A/S's? Say the flatspotting and vibration is gone. Recently in the same temps did you have flatspotting with the EL42's? Seems mine will flatspot no matter what temp is if car hasn't been driven for a day or two. I know handling is definately better. But how would you describe the ride, comfort, noise compared to the EL42's. I have the LS-Z's now, they are pretty quiet- don't think any quieter than EL42's though. Ride and handle is pretty good just still have highway vibration and flatspotting. I like a tire that is smooth, quiet and not too harsh-riding.

I think LS-Z is quieter and softer than Sport A/S... that's all.

Not all EL-42's flat spot as bad as others. I was at the dealership last week and they let me drive a demo that had been sitting overnight. Mine flatspotted when I left in the AM despite it being around 55 degrees, the dealer demo did not flatspot, same day, same temps.

Seems like only some are as bad as mine.
